When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

I did ride alone. I worry about the same things. But the draw to ride >> my worries.
At my pace I really doubt I'd be so badly messed up I couldn't crawl my way out. Or I keep telling myself that anyway.
KDX needs a carb clean and it'll be back in action.
More importantly, if any of you guys want to get some laughs watching a bunch of first timers on flat track minis, we'll be at Wachusett Valley this Saturday! Bike rentals are available too, I can pass along the contact info if there's interest.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
riding HVD again today ... prob do ~10 - 2PM

anyone up for Clough SP on 8/14, 15 or 16? i haven't ridden up there yet.
Beta 200RR
Clinton, if I find the time to work on my bike between now and then I'll join you.
that would be sweet, Joel... wife and kids are out of town that weekend so i'll prob journey, Clough is at the top of the list.

Joel, Gordon is coming up from CT and we will be there the following weekend as well. Keep me posted on the 14-16 ride though.
I have a business trip scheduled for the beginning of August that may interfere with that weekend. I'm in if I'm around.
"...i would seriously bite somebody right in the balls..." -bump909
well if i get it together in time I'll likely be heading over from Loudon in the morning as it is the August round weekend and I am usually there for the weekend. Guess we'll see what the future holds.
great ride again yesterday at HVD, we owned the place until around 2. trails were in excellent condition.. .
i'm editing some vid to show our fav loop, this is Part 1 (of prob 3). i HIGHLY recommend this loop if you ride there, touches all the good stuff. this first part shows how we zig-zag from the front lower trails up to the top. Part 2 will show how we loop around the upper area and down to the back section, Part 3 will be lower back section then heading back to the parking lot. depending how we slice 'n dice some of the back area, it's about a 15-17mi loop.

So, to the right of the road down that way is ok to run?
i'm not following... could you explain further? not sure what you mean by 'down that way'... but i'll take a guess...
if you were looking down the paved road beyond the yellow gate from the main lot, yes, you can ride on the right-hand side except for the quarry. they don't want you on the powerlines either. lots of great trails on that side from just beyond the yellow gate to the open area right before the quarry starts.
here's a map to help... red outline contains lots of trail, most of it is marked by red/white spray paint which means 'difficult' according to HVD's ranking. the orange outline shows what's more friendly for novice/intermediate, that stuff is marked by orange spray paint which means 'moderate'. most of the lower trails on the left side of the road are marked by blue spray paint which means 'easy'.
hope that helps!

Sweet Jesus. I've ridden maybe a 3rd of the orange section, and the old fire road towards Buffumville. I had no clue there was that much more out there. I know we aren't allowed on the power lines, but while mountain biking out there I've heard bikes up there and seen new tire marks, and never run into any rangers or dirty bikers. Thanks for the info, gonna have to go get lost out there.
you know the entire other side has trails too, right? i'll post another map with the full deal...
EDIT: i will screengrab my GPS map, that will already have the main loops we ride but there are a handful of connectors as well. the spot i'm focused on right now is to the top-left of that blue 'Lot' box. we generally skip some of that just because i forget what goes where. did a little scoping after last weekends ride.

so... Clough Sat 8/15 or Sun 8/16 ? i'm gearing up...
took Fri the 14th off to get my NH ORV sticker in order, it sounds like a pretty easy process but question for you NH peoples... can i score a sticker for my neighbors bike while i'm up there getting mine? sounds like a dumb question now that i've typed it but wasn't sure.
Beta 200RR
Took me 5 minutes to get my sticker. They asked for photo id and the bike info and then took my check.
Not sure if you're buddy has to get it in person or they just want the info.
I went to Nault's Windham (right across the border) to get mine. Might be worth a phone call to them and see.
