Good Dirty shop in Bellingham?

Friend has a Yamaha YZ125 and he thinks he blew the piston. He needs to get it looked at, (no compression when kicking it) asked who was the "Go To" guy in or around the Bellingham, MA area....

Suggestions?

Not sure if Cliff's will work on a Yamaha since they're a KTM dealer but they're not too far down in Norfolk and worth calling. Also Pete Kates, not sure if him or Union would take on some motor work.

i bet cliffs would take it on, they did work on my honda, altho it wasn't motor work. pressed some bearings.

Replacing a top end on a YZ125 is a pretty basic job, -one that he should probably attempt himself, if he plans on keeping the bike. 125 MXers are pretty maintenance intensive, as far as top ends go (once a year, for sure).

We can take a look at it for you. easy job. We would give you estimate before any work is done. but you would need a sleeve $100 or replating $200 or so. piston, rings, circlips, wrist pin $100.Top-end gasket kit $25. Labor $300. depending on how you go about cylinder work if you need any at all. If cylinder has no damage $100 off labor & minus any cylinder work. After top end is taken apart we can determine the condition of the cylinder & decide if any work is needed. If you have any ? feel free to call me @
