Surrounded by state forests that wont let me 4-wheel, I broke down and got a bike. Been a long time since I have been on two wheels in the dirt, this should be fun.

edit: let you ride properly registered and stickered 2-wheelers? I see that you're stickered on your lower fork guards

That's the plan! I had to give it a good once over cleaning to find all of the little shit wrong with it. And there was plenty! Unfortunately..
Cliff's cycles is only a 10 min. drive so that has been great. They have had all of the little things I needed on hand. I do need to rip the forks off soon and get the seals replaced, the right one is leaking, just more shit.

And I got to say hi to, Super Dave as he was making his deliveries there when I was spending.

I know, I know...
They wanted too much for the WR, and wouldn't budge because it had a plate and was in MA.
Now I have one for just the street, and just the dirt. I gotta say, I took the WR for a test ride and it was a great bike. They just didn't want to haggle and I think $5900 is a bit much for a used 09.

Moose bark busters have been ordered. Just too broke for the rest right now. I need to get some radiator guards and a skid plate fo shizzle. And elbow pads for me.

And yes! Foxboro and Wrentham state forests allow bikes only, no 4-wheelers. There is a season, lemme check the web site.

Trail Notices and Updates

Off Highway Motorcycle trails at F.Gilbert Hills, Franklin and Wrentham State Forests will open on Sunday, May 1, 2011.

Off Highway Motorcycle trails at Freetown State Forest will open on Monday, May 9, 2011. Motorized trail recreation in this property is traditionally delayed by one week to accommodate an annual Native American celebration in the forest.

DCR is postponing the opening of Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) trails at Beartown State Forest, Tolland State Forest and October Mt. State Forest until Saturday, May 14th, 2011 due to wet trail conditions in these Berkshire county forests. Heavy snows this past winter and rains this spring have created wet trail conditions. Operating recreation vehicles under these conditions contributes to trail damage and environmental degradation.

Pittsfield State Forest will be operating a limited OHV trail system again in 2011. The trails will open on Friday, May 27, 2011. For more information about reserving your free OHV permit for Pittsfield trails, please see information below.

We appreciate your help in protecting these trails and the natural resources in our public parks and forests.
