Easy dirt ride saturday, the 6th

Got my forks revalved by Peter Kates, and heading out to Pittsfield State Forest tomorrow to test them out.

First impression is that they are much more plush and should help limit the arm pump I was getting.

Before, when I would stand next to the bike and step down on the footpeg, the back would go down but the front would stay put. Now, the whole bike goes down evenly.

Anyway, I'll be going with Renee, so this will be a very easy paced ride if any beginners out there care to join us.

We plan to arrive around 10:30.

Street legal plate, or a Mass ORV plate are required.

Lemme know next time you & Renee are headin out. I gotta get an ORV plate to ride anything but the secret spots but I wanna do an easy ride to test out the wrist.

Or maybe I'll just set out on my own to do that... either way I gotta find out whether or not I should start planning to sell my dirty toy come spring

I'm not sure I went any faster, but the bike didn't beat me up like it did last time. Now I just gotta learn to trust the front end a bit more.

It's absorbing stuff now that I used to bounce off of... but I still can't always tell my throttle hand to keep going when I see the things.

What are running for tire pressures?

I was running my WR450 at the forests... I run about 12 or 13 psi in those tires.

I wouldn't take my KLR out to the state forests. Pittsfield, maybe... but only a couple of the trails.

Yes, I'm definitely looking for people to Dual Sport with. I love my KLR but mostly go out alone.

I say we get a nice ds ride in before the real cold sets in. I'm up for anything except the really tight stuff. The xr isn't at its best in those conditions.
