That reminds me of how much faster I was in the tight single track with my YZ125. Slow steep climbs were not too fun though. If there was a 180cc kit, I would have rode that bike for many more years.

Mmm, but if the original intent was to spend some dough to get something you can't buy off the shelf, then it's not so bad. They probably spent what it would cost to buy a 250F. Honestly, if they come out with a new 144, that could be my next bike. (I know ktm makes one, but they are fraught with problems)

I have heard that the new ktm 150s have most issues worked out...would love one of those or a yz144

That is a great series of articles. I have always maintained that, if you want to move swiftly through the woods, you should ride a 125 or a 200. Nothing bigger.

I want the FASST rear brake clevis and spring kit, I've got my pedal as low as it'll go and I still find myself catching it on landings with my toes. Freaked me out the first time I stalled after a jump thinking I broke the bike. It nearly bit me a couple times this weekend too.

yessir built it up to match the '11 WR150 w/OEM parts + mods before even riding it. lovin' that little bike!

I try to stay on the balls of my feet, the issue is mostly when the gravity gets turned off for a moment at the top of the arc of a jump... I land a touch forward and stomp the brake by accident.

You could certainly build a badass 144 for the cost of a 250F.

definitely + the Athena kits are supposed to be top notch. i'm curious to see what the total will be as well but they're putting together a really nice project bike. you could skip a few of the details and still have a very sweet little ripper
