I've been meaning to ask... I have a leftover bottle of the red K&N filter oil. Is it kosher to use on foam filters? I already used it once on a new twinair. I just can't imagine it's any different from other stuff.

I would imagine its the same stuff.

The Notoil stuff is great as far as clean up goes, no need for solvents, but I guess it stands to reason, if the oil is biodegradeable and water soluable than obviously it lets water through in the air box.

Lot of useful info over there on thumpertalk too bad there is like 1000+ pages of stuff in each catagory to filter through.

I think it would have been more acurate if he had used the same type of filter and the results would have been different. If you increase airflow through a filter, you must increase the size of the little passages. Aftermarket filters generally allow far more airflow than stock, which will also let more water in if that's the case?
He used a stock filter and it pretty much didn't leak, both the aftermarket filters leaked. Not saying the idea isn't the same, but it should have been done with the same filter

the only thing with the K@N filter oil is made for a paper filter not a foam filter. But as long as you clean it every time, it really dosn't matter what oil you use.

I've had good results using 2-stroke oil for filter oil. One of the parts guys at the dealer said try it way back when I was in high school and I've been using it ever sence. Golden Spectro to be exact. It also washes out with Dawn dish soap, simple green or castrol super clean all mixxed with water
