Thanks guys. I hatched the idea for this trip a year ago on a boat in a bioluminescent bay in Puerto RIco. To have it a come together like this was kinda beyond a dream. I learned a lot and I'm inspired for the next adventure.

Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it was worth every penny and then some.

Here's the kicker. We did it for under 3k each total. Airfare, parking, food, bikes, tips for the guides, gifts, the whole ball of wax.

I told my guys, it will not be a luxury tour. We ride 250s, we share rooms, we suffer a little and we wing it a little. I took a chance on these guides as they are really a pretty informal business. I gained confidence in them and vice versa by chatting in Spanish with them for a few months prior to the trip. They speak English fine, but being fluent in Spanish is a bit like a backstage pass. In the end, they provided an experience that I don't think even an established tour company could have provided. The first day of route finding, and the last day at the track were things you could not pay for.

You can benefit from my legwork. The company is called mototours-catours. Their website is out of date. They are very active on Instagram however. Book a trip with Jose. Tell him I sent you. You will NOT regret it.

    Re: Gettin dirty in Guatemala?

I've done many incredible trips/adventures. This one ranks second only to the Appalachian Trail thru-hike. Seriously. It feels similar in scale even though it was only seven days. I had to clip my narrative incredibly short. If I were to share all that happened and my thoughts, it would be way too much to read. hahaa. The thing about moto travel is that the experiences come at you so fast. It took 4 days for us to digest what happened on day 1.

There were a few mishaps as well. One guide was injured (sprained ankle) and one of my guys was injured as well (chest injury). We broke one motor, and had one flat tire (incredibly only 1). Everyone's spirits were so high that none of this broke our stride for more than a few minutes.

Do a thorough and in depth write up now before details get hazy. It may be a long read but it will be worth it in the long run to have things down while they are still fresh.
