    GoPro Mounts

Gonna go riding with the Mrs this afternoon, gonna tote along the gopro. Thinking about mounts. If you saw the vid I posted last time, its just too shaky. Hoping to get some good video with different angles to put on the GoPro display at work, hopefully sell some more of them. So where do you guys mount yours? I got one on the top of the helmet, gonna try the front number plated again, right against one of the mounting points so hopefully its not too blurry. Anyone ever tried to attach one to a roost guard? I have the chesty thing, but not sure I wanna deal with another strap on top of the roost guard and Leatt. Any other suggestions for cool angles?

    Re: GoPro Mounts

I don't ride dirt, but I think low shots showing suspension working are pretty kick-ass. On a sportbike this would be center of the side fairing facing forward or below/just behind the seat facing rearward.

Any room on the gas tank? Peek it up over the handlebars? Sideways under your throttle hand?

You can always clamp it right on the bars.

On a dirtbike it will only be steady on your helmet or chest. Everything else is just bouncing around too much. I mount mine on the side on my helmet. Works OK. You can see the visor and chin guard a little which gives you perspective. That's all I got.

I like Paul's videos and Seth's videos...either go head or chesty

and personally, I like seeing a little bit of helmet visor; when everything bounces around as much as it does, seeing something fixed helps the perspective as Paul mentioned

my question for the helmet is: how do you figure out the right angle without the LCD bacpac?

When I was trying to get angles for my race bike mounts, I held the camera in various spots, recorded some vid & took a few still shots, viewed them on my PC and figured it out from there. Kind of a PITA but it worked.

    Re: GoPro Mounts

Put helmet on and have a friend set the angle of the camera. I find you have to tilt it up quite a bit as the helmet tilts forward and you will look down a fair bit.

anyone try a 360 degree swivel mount on a DB?

kind of looks cool because it's a 3rd party viewpoint

    Re: GoPro Mounts

Just got one of the Hero 2's for Christmas so all these ideas are good to hear.

What do you guys think about mounting it on your street helmet? The perspective from the top of your head seems a bit weird. But it is the easiest place to mount the curved adhesive mount. I think the side of the helmet perspective looks better in the videos and I like the idea of it being at eye level.

I am thinking of trying mounting it on the side of my Monster frame. Just forward of the knee position, so you would be low and get a view of the wheel and front suspension in the video too (and no compromising speedo shots). Some of you must have done this, please give your opinions or better yet post up a video link!

    Cheers, Brew

I figured seeing some of the tight, bumpy and hedge row lined roads I currently ride on video would be fun!

    I use chest sometimes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRvHk2_xyzM&sns=em
    Handlebar other times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maPyE11dVYs&sns=em

Have some top of helmet stuff but not in love with it. Feel like camera is too high up and gives weird perspective. Just bought elbow mount so will so some side of helmet soon.

I have a cool video half done that mixes in few neat angles. Will have to finish. Maybe tomorrow.

pretty cool...like the DB helmet POV, having a stable part (your forks) gives a frame of reference

not going to lie...I kept watching the fork compress though

an england? really? was born there

RP - what did you end up doing???

I have it mounted on the top left corner of the helmet...

I think it's just like A13 says - it's too high, weird perspective...and since it faces down, you can't see wheelies so clearly

I'm going to try a lower mount

    Re: GoPro Mounts

I havent been rocking a GoPro lately. Havent been riding much either. Bought the wrist mount for our trip to the Dominican, hoping to try that out next time we ride, dont know how the perspective will be. Might mount it to the crossbar with that, might cut down on some vibration.

    Re: GoPro Mounts

Finally tried mounting up the wrist strap to the bar pad. Angles are cool, vibration is there, but not too bad.
