The skid he gave me is an AC Racing. I think he said it's like, .190 or something. Probably just gonna stick with that for now. Any idea what size/thread the stock mounting bolts were?

By the time the lake is frozen, I should have plenty of time

I don't know the thread size off hand but the bolt head size was 10mm, I went with the 12mm head bolts and it almost doubles the size of the threaded part

I don't have a tap & die set, so I'll just go with the 10mm for now. I'm guessing coarse thread? Also, looks like there's platic grommets/collars on the frame's mounting holes. Did ya just lose 'em when ya drilled 'em out?

Also, Mark - you mentioned a filter for the crankcase breather tube. Any info on who makes those or where I can get one? I've been searching like hell but can't seem to find one...

So does this mean that you are gonna plow out a road course on the ice?

As for the tapping thing, Just go to the hardware store , bring the bolt you have or tell the guy that it is a 10mm and you want to go to 12 mm, you can get the new bolts and just buy the 1 drill and 1 tap you'll need to match the bolts you bought.
As for length, put the skid plate in place, use what ever is skinny enough to fit in the hole (tee hee) like a tooth pick or a nail , mark it with a marker to get the hole depth.

find out here for tap and drill size

Drill & Tap chart inch / metric

remember go slow and to use some lube when tapping, its kinda like having ........................ oh nevermind.

Heh, heh...thanks Sean. Like I said though, for now I'll just figure out & find what goes in there stock. I think it's 10mm in the front holes, 12mm in the rear holes. Heh, heh...front & rear holes...

I'm gonna do my best keeping something clean on the ice...
