yeah, man, was great to see you guys! dust fucked up our flow but def need to hook up again soon! you’ll enjoy the full lower loop as a quick training sesh.

Harley Guy was a trip, i was trying to figure out the vibe as well Hodges Village Dam, Oxford, MA that lot can be a strange gathering spot … Sprinter that showed up after we got back from last loop just idled there forever. no bike inside.

EDIT: yeah, group ride after we get some rain would be fun!

Re: Hodges Village Dam, Oxford, MA

jammed down to HVD yesterday later afternoon to get a quick sesh in ... ended up riding through a rain storm, felt good, we need the rain. hung out under a tree out back then made my way up top across the ridge then down near entrance to get back to the truck ... there were two dump trucks that put it in reverse and went aaaallll the way back to the ORV lot. i'm like did they get the wrong load ? hahaaa. i was soaked so thought about heading back out and doing another loop ... glad i didn't ... quarry worker slowed and threw it in reverse, was like, 'dude, there are high tension wires down across the access road, just talked to the line workers and they're here all night to fix.' ... lightening hit a transformer near the power station when you first enter and knocked lines down. it was nearing 330 and he said they lock the gate at 4 and i need to follow him out the back way. another quarry worker stopped to say same thing. so glad i didn't head out again! woulda been camping for the night

    Holy shit, that's crazy.

And that was yesterday?? What time? I was getting skylights installed. Thank god we didn't get hit by any of it. Not a single drop of rain.

would have been hilarious if i got locked in but i'm sure they would have sent someone to unlock the gate for me, plus there were National Grid trucks EVERYWHERE. i was totally set up to camp though, had the van + gear ... although i'm all set camping down the road from a 'heroin addicted vagrant that's good with a blade'

right?! i called local PoPo on that individual quite a while ago, sad situation but man, they have no clue what to do ... when the rangers mentioned that particular skill i immediately replayed in my mind riding into the camp, turning around and sweating someone was gonna come chasing... or fire. nuts. as you guys saw, that ridge isn't so easy to just whip it around and jam out.

awesome you got out, was wondering if you ever made it down, i arrived late morning but got ~18mi in. been trying to make some newer connections on back side now that it's more difficult to leverage the powerline road as a connector. construction and overgrowth. it was super humid, wasn't expecting that.

with fall creeping in soon, wonder if NETRA is doing Jack Frost this year (?) that's a great way to scope HVD, marked course and directional.

EDIT: yes, looks like the NETRA Jack Frost Family Fun Run is on for Oct 30th, 2022. they usually have a peewee course, adult course, hero sections, workarounds and a chili cookoff.

    FYI.

sweet !! good question on quad, i don't think so but you can reach out to NETRA to find out ... on the chili cook-off, that's what they've done in the past, will have to wait for the official flyer unless one has been posted already.

hah, nice on Southwick! if you've never ridden there, you're in for a treat

hmm, not sure what that green sticker is. the MA ORV stickers look like white w/black lettering boat stickers, there are two, one for each fork leg.

    are you environmental police?
