    my new husky

Here's the Husky I picked up a few months ago, got it pretty much set up now.

I put on some Renthal bars w/Cycra hand guards
    Scotts damper and mount
    Scotts shark fin
Mountain Engineering brake and clutch levers
    Uptite skid plate
Factory connection suspension (shortened the shock 4mm)
Pirelli MT 16 tires w/UHD tubes
    -1 on the front sprocket
    Full FMF exhaust
    JD 6X programmer
    Fastway pegs
    7602 radiator gaurds and braces

I took the bike out on some powerlines and single track for the first time. It feels great, not like a fucking pig which is a relief. It tracks nice and straight, and doesn't bounce/dance all around like my KTM does. I do have a little bit of a hard time getting the front to come up, but I think I can play with the JD tuner and get a little more snap out of the bike. Husqvarna uses this CTS set up, which has the swing arm pivoting in line with the countershaft sprocket. I guess it's supposed to help out traction wise, but the swing arm is so long it keeps the front down too.

I have about 200 miles on the bike now, and have changed the oil and drained the radiators. The fluids that came out did not inspire confidence. The oil had about the normal amount of metal for a new bike, and was very clean, but it smelled of gas pretty strong. I've heard it's somewhat common on these bikes when they're breaking in. We'll see.
The coolant was brownish when it came out, not something I've seen before. It settled in a clear container overnight, and there was a layer of brown on the bottom with remainder being a clean greenish color. I've run water through the system twice since and its come out clean. We'll see.

Overall I'm very happy with the bike and how it rides on the trails. I'm also happy it's street plated and I can SM the thing out if I want to down the road. I haven't heard any horror stories about these engines, so I'm hoping what I've seen is normal for the bike and all goes well.

Thanks. It's a TE449. I was thinking of going with te 310, but on paper there wasn't a huge difference in weight so I got the 450.

I had a Husky 05 450RR Motard. Thing was bullet proof. Till I decded a FBF piston would be nice. That piston let go. But it didn't do much damage. That bike was crashed, raced and was very dependable.

I've ridden enough SX bikes in the woods to REALLY like that rear wheel/tire.
    Bike looks mint.

    Re: my new husky

Bike is great, feels like I'm cheating. Its a little hard to wheelie,
But the front is set up so well it clears everything fine . Did 60 miles yesterday, 20 the day before.
Going to try for 55 today. We're riding in west Virginia all week.

Ok. Not cheating, I'm bleeding. Front end needs some more set up.
