WE HAVE ICE!!!

I stopped by a few places today that we can ride and there was 6 inches at one spot and about the same at another. Enough to ride on!!!

It's supposed to be below zero and shit with the wind chill. Which means MORE ICE.

I mounted my rear ice tire tonight and will be doing the front tomorrow.

So uhhh yeah who else is ready?

how did you get your 6" measurement? You surely didn't dip your donkey... not enough length to make that measurement!

There was some dudes Ice fishing. I dipped a skimmer in and then measured. 6" of ice.

So I'll be riding on Sunday anyone else?

1-3/4 One person on skies
2 One person on foot or skates
3 One snowmobile
3 A group of people walking single file
7 A single passenger automobile
8 A 2-1/2 ton truck
9 A 3-1/2 ton truck
10 A 7 to 8 ton truck


So if 3 will hold a snowmobile and 7 an automobile. I think I'll be safe on 6. Yeah boyeeeeeee.

The Rappy is done, all studded up Me and DingleBerry are going to test the ice tomorrow morning at a local small pond..it was 3-4" thick as of today.

We should set something up for next weekend, somewhere big? Howabout that place in NH we went to last year??

When you guys are measruing this ice. Where do you take the measurements from and are you confident the measurement is consistent?

I took measurements at the deepest part of the lake and at various other spots. The deepest part of this lake is about 20 feet.

I scored a set of slightly used michelin star cross tires for the mini from one of teh guys at the " local shop" $ 40 for the pair. Pleanty of tread left for studding.
Got them all mounted up and studded ready for next weekend

I went out for about 2 hours today with Todd and another guy I work with that lives in Ct. It sure was fun despite my highside within the first 1/2 hour...then the bent axle/whiplash crash I suffered when my rear tire clipped a tree coming out of a corner. The good news is the tree is gone as the Rappy busted it off at the ice, the bad news is a really bent axle. I already have a replacement axle, I just have to hope it fits..it's from a YFZ 450. I'll be getting up early to work on it
