Did a nice half-mile course today. Fun shit, it is! The Raptor isn't studded yet, but I just finished doing about 50 laps on the 4x4 Cat. Holyfugginshit, this is gonna be fun!
Run it clockwise in the morning, counter in the afternoon due to the sun - perfect! It's much faster clockwise, I was getting the unstudded 4x4 up to about 35 heading into the low-speed hairpin (Jay's idea, great thinking!). Counterclockwise seems more technical and definitely slower...
Nice hairpin, a coupla decent straights, a nice sweeper or two and some chicanes. It actually came out really good - nice layout, me thinks...

I just got in a little while ago, I had a fucken blast on that ice Friday afternoon and todayThe layout came out awesome and is gonna be kick ass with some studs, I can't wait to come back up.
I thought the unstudded Rappy's went pretty good considdering the snow cover and the smooth ice under it. Plus the sleds going across the center of the lake packed the snow good today and made for some nice high speed runs. Not quite as fast as your friends sled...was i surprised when i got on that thing and hit the throttle, think I wussed out and only saw 80 before letting off.

Managed to track down a set of front rims w/ tires on 'em somewhat local. Just finished installing 300 ice screws. Woooooo!!!

Screws are set to be delivered Thursday night, got the tires mounted the other day, hopefully I didn't pinch the tubes. Should be good to go Saturday morning or afternoon depending how long it takes me to stud 'em up. I'm pumped.
I wish i could make the trip back up this weekend, but it aint gonna happen
Neighbor and I are planning on heading over to a friends to check the ice track from last year this weekend, though it looks like a bit of a warm up around here so not sure if there will be any riding

Got the rears today. Shitty old tires with lotsa lugs. I just put 420 in one of 'em and I hadta skip like, every 3rd row 'cuz I know I'm not gonna have enough even with the 500 I'll have here Friday morning. I can get a good head start on the other one tomorrow...

Got the screws for my rear tire yesterday and found a tire to use as a liner. I am about 50 screws short for the front. I should be able to get some more in bye Friday. I am going to try to get it together for this weekend.
I may end up with some extras if you need 'em. I think my math/counting skills el sucko. I didn't think I'd have enough to do what I wanted with those rear tires, so I ordered 500 more. I ended up skipping every 3rd row of lugs, but now it looks like I'll have enough to do 'em all on both and have some left-over. I'm a fookin' retard, I tell ya!

I have a partial box (must be 600+ left in the box) of 5/8" ice screws that were given to me. I have no use for them
