Looks like short knobs so short ones, as many as you can pack per knob.

If your looking to ride this weekend then buy whatever screws you can find, all the longer ones are probably sold out at the dealerships. The shorter ones are fine, they just rip out of the tires easier....you lose more of them and need to replace them.

In terms of quantity, a couple per knobby is good. Look up images online.
You just need a 1/4 inch socket and a drill to screw them in.

Whoa, slow down! I don't know if it's gonna be ready THIS weekend. We've had 2-1/2 days of snow, rain, freezing rain, light snow, rain, freezing rain & light snow, all with temps hovering around freezing. I didn't make it out yesterday to check, but judging from the path in my backyard, the track's gonna be a fargin' mess. Unfortunately I've got a fairly busy schedule Friday & Saturday, but I'm gonna work on it as much as I can. If it's ready, great. But I just don't know how much time I'll be able to get in on it, and riding on it before it's cleaned up will most definitely trash it all together...

My snowblower is a vital piece of my snow removal puzzle. I wanna be around it if someone else is using it...

    Re: Ice, Ice Baby!

geez stoner, you're pretty much starting the NESR winter riding movement here...and at this rate, you won't have to do any work at all, year after year, to get that track maintained! I also drive past a lake in MA every morning, and see snowmobile tracks and fisherman there every morning, so I know that the countdown is over.

but great pics guys, it looks like an f'in blast!

the videos are just dynamite too...it's the only thing, while I'm off the saddle, that's keeping me sane, so keep them coming!

seeing a WOT slide, out of a turn, roosting ice from studded tires, is what I'm talking about

so are the dirtybikes faster than the dirtyquads because they can go in a straight line through the chicanes?

Mr. Duncan: are those DOT knobbies, and what size are they?

    Re: Ice, Ice Baby!

Hey guys great photos and vids so far!

Stoneman, I don't know how you feel about new guys coming up, but me and tripletaco are looking for another option to ride this year. I just finished putting my KX back together and put the last few screws in last night. I'm not looking to ride this weekend since I still need to break in my new top end. But I'm available to help with track clean up, Saturday or Sunday, I have a 10HP Arien's to lug along. Let me know man.

These are the Fredette Replica's I made (Dunlop K490 Front Tire w/ 7/8" Gold Pros, Kenda K335 Rear Tire w/ 1" Gold Pros). Rear tire is not indexed in pic.

    Re: Ice, Ice Baby!

Looks like maintenance only this weekend. It's necessary at this point to save it. A coupla of us are gonna go clean it up with the plows in a coupla hours, then hopefully have time to hit it with the snowblower to widen it. Depending on motivation, our aim this afternoon is to use the pump and flood it too. Temp's are supposed to be brutally cold this weekend again, so if all goes to plan we should have a wider track with a fresh surface for NEXT weekend. I'll keep everyone posted...

Also got word to the two kids on sleds that were tearing it up. Through diplomacy and a coupla different channels, it would SEEM they get the picture and've agreed to stop. We shall see...
