What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.

ATK was one of the first serious off road thumpers to arrive after 2 strokes took over in the seventies. IIRC Husky came out with a 500 thumper about the same time. They were both good bikes in their day.

I think its actually an ATK 605, and it should be a ton of fun to get parts for. The ATK brand was sold to Hyosung in 2011. This bike predates that, and is the last year for that Rotax motor.

Here's some info on the BARF site. Atk 605 - BARF - Bay Area Riders Forum

I've only seen one, and I always remember it had a the rear brake mounted to the the engine, not the wheel. I doubt there's a bit benefit to doing it that way, but cool to see a deviation from the usual.

I had one, it was for sale on here for a long time, it was hard to sell. I dont get why, great bike, bulletproof aircooled 600cc rotax, VERY well engineered, a please to work on. Parts were easy to get from American Dirtbike.

A 70s ish year old guy from NH ended up buying it.

Is this site legit? I see some handicap busses going for like 1600 bucks. Would make interesting toy haulers.

IIRC ATK was started by Horst leitner who later got involved with mountain bike rear suspensions and his Horst link.
