Re: I'm dumb. Y'all know it. So make me be less dumb. KDX? CRF? KTM?
What do you ringy-dinger guys run for two smoke lewb?
I'm about out of the stuff that came with the bike. My old Honda ran on anything, up to including bacon drippings or pine sap.
Thinking Maxima Super M. That stuff decent enough?

Moar monday morning i'd rather be riding or at least talking about motor bikes questions:
Sunline V1 MDX brake/clutch levers. Worth it? Both my levers are pretty worn, lotta slop. For $54, can replace both with these dandy levers that can fold up in the event of a crash that manages to get through my Cycra Pro-Bends.
To replace with normal non-bendy levers would be about $15 cheaper total. Seems like a no brainer.

i like Amsoil Interceptor at 40:1 for trail/general use, low flash point, burns clean and protects well. Super M and K2, high flash points, ran real gooey for me but i like to goat around.

I run Maxima Super M at 60:1. So far pretty happy with it. But I barely know what I'm talking about.
Was running Motorex per my local guy's recommendation. Maxima is way more affordable. Amazonable too.
50:1 I get some goop. Really I mix to 50:1 as that's what my mixer is labeled for, then add a bit more gas.
Midwest Mountain engineering cluch lever per Chip is a mighty tasty upgrade. I dig mine. Highly recommend.

Re: I'm dumb. Y'all know it. So make me be less dumb. KDX? CRF? KTM?
Damn those are some expensive levers. Don't think it's worthwhile for me considering my clutch lever is just there for my own enjoyment with the Rekluse and all.
That chainsaw mount they have is big fat Oprah tits.

Re: I'm dumb. Y'all know it. So make me be less dumb. KDX? CRF? KTM?
Sell silly, over-complicated clutch. Buy lever. Profit.

Re: I'm dumb. Y'all know it. So make me be less dumb. KDX? CRF? KTM?
Maybe I should just become an Herbalife independent distributor like they are?
Are the levers pyramid shaped? Lol.
Really though, they look sweet, just not THAT sweet for the $$. If I end up needing to use my clutch lever in the future, I'll strongly consider it.

Your loss.

Now I want the brake lever to match.
With hand guards levers are pretty hard to break. I did have a problem with the adjuster screw on the MME lever backing off on the trail. Lever still worked for to limp home and was rectified with a trip to the hardware store and some thread locker.

Re: I'm dumb. Y'all know it. So make me be less dumb. KDX? CRF? KTM?
another MME leva lova here, the shape rules ... i got an unbreakable ASV for the stopper side just cause i like to finger shortys.

Re: I'm dumb. Y'all know it. So make me be less dumb. KDX? CRF? KTM?
MME levers are definitely a must have.
It will render the rekluse obsolete...one finger effortless brake and clutch action.

Re: I'm dumb. Y'all know it. So make me be less dumb. KDX? CRF? KTM?
speaking of a light clutch ... i just recently learned of a cheapo mod for the Beeta, i assume it's a universal thing but adding a small washer to each clutch spring bolt decreases pull by a noticeable amount. YEMBD

god i love burritos.
I have ridden Pisgah State Forest many times - although on ATV's. There are mostly dirt roads, with a few trails that connect them. You can get out of the State Forest pretty quickly. The power lines get gnarly, though, and I can see many more trails outside of the forest when I look at Google Maps. My wife and I just have not figured out how to access them from the forest trails.

ATV? how dare you :D thanks for the info, i was just researching that place this morning, it's open until April-May mud season although i'm curious if studs are needed up there? the warm temps and rain finally killed our whiteout here.
yeah, seems super tame but possibliy a nice place to shake the rust off (?) noted on the powerline additions, sounds like Pittsfield, the trails get way more fun when you go beyond the boundaries.

Just because you have a Rekluse does not make your clutch lever useless. I still use mine very similarly to how I would use it if I did not have the Rekluse. A healthy dose of revs with a quick snap of the clutch can assist in getting the front end over a lot of things as well as getting out of corners.

Re: I'm dumb. Y'all know it. So make me be less dumb. KDX? CRF? KTM?
Oh, I know. I still use it just as I normally would. Just don't have to is all.

NH is very ATV friendly (compared to MA). Plated bikes allow you to venture off "published" trails more easily, and a quick look at the Pisgah area on any map site will reveal a "never ending" trail system, but in reality, it looks to me like some pavement is required to access the outer limits. Pisgah can get crowded in the summer, as people also go hiking, fishing, and swimming in the pond at the top of the hill there. My wife and I ride our ATV's there at least 3 times a year.
Little Manadnock Family Trails is another close by area, but last I had heard they did not submit the required land owner certificates to keep it open. They also lost the parking area on Fish Hatchery Road due to general ass-hat-ery.

There shall be NO FUN in this country. At least no in my back yard! We can blame the kids/squids/rednecks all we want, but at some level we need to tolerate a little noise and dust. Think about it. What fun would it be to ride all orderly in single file never spinning a wheel or making a noise?
I just rode seven days in Guatemala with no rules and it was glorious.

I go where I want. I try and be respectful of the neighbors, the land, and any other users of the woods I frequent.
Is some of it against the law? Youbetcha. Do I care? Yes. Will I stop? Only if I'm forced to.

The Bureau of Trails shut them down in the September time frame and the LMFT facebook page states that they still haven't received an update as to why.

Maybe with all the fed govt cuts there will be no agency staff left to patrol them? Just our luck, the funds are probably state level. Randy will chime in if I'm wrong...
I rode little monadnock once. I think it was a pretty small area that really didn't flow. But it was something.

Re: I'm dumb. Y'all know it. So make me be less dumb. KDX? CRF? KTM?
Yeah, I rode it with Jay and Melissa once. It is small, not very fun, but it's 12 minutes from my door.

I think I was there that day. Melissa faceplanted in a puddle?
