I run a 14/48 at on 19" mx rim could top out at 75-80mph...I'd say 55-65ish with 13/50...or just run it first and see how it feels

Sprocket ratios vs. speed don't mean anything between brands that use different gearing in the transmission.

on the other hand, all those gears/power spread out to 55-60mph should be have a gear for *everything* in tighter/trail riding stuff

Re gearing: the extra toof up front will put a bunch more stress on the rekluse, if you're real lazy and using it a bunch.
I agree, ride it, feel out how you'll be using it and go from there. But do keep in mind that gearing it too tall and relying on the rekluse lots will accelerate wear.

Nobody discussed over the boot or in the boot pants.

I prefer the over the boot pants as they assist in keeping water and mud etc. out of your boots. Some swear by in the boot as well so I would say it is a preference thing.

I'll rock my old street pants. Waterproof, padded, over the boot. That's how I used to roll when I rode dirt with y'alls many moons ago. I still use them for skiing. Helps keep the ladies away.

I suspect if you ride enough and/or aggressively, street pants won't last long. The parts around the boot will get destroyed. I have seen that some of the OTB offroad pants have heavy material around the boot to help. But unless you're gonna be doing ADV-type riding, I'd go with in the boot.

Not my experience. Over the boot for woods use all day, every day.
I wear the knees out from punching holes in them using rocks. My last pair was destroyed when I high sided myself and caught the waistband on a root.
Yet to have an issue with the pant leg around the boot.
