I've spent 2 days after work so far at the dealer trying to solve this electrical problem. It was narrowed down to having a bad battery that checked OK for voltage but died under a load test. They prepped and charged a new battery overnight, put it in today about 4pm and the voltage tested fine at or around 14 while steady RPM's..Cool!!
So I bring it home and start replacing the bulbs and before I had the chance to start it up and test things out, I noticed the battery was again dead
So I again load the bike up and head back to the dealer. First thought was I had a direct ground somewhere in the harness. After a quick recharge, we put on the voltage tester and it was around 11.8... then it dropped a little bit... then a little bit more. The harness is so simple and basic, I knew there wasn't a short. Decided to try testing the brand new battery with nothing connected to it and again, the voltage just dropped. Another bad battery?
Regulators, stators, flywheels, batteries... i've had it Goodby Orange bike, hello to a new Blue bike
