Man, do I suck at that! Anyway, I am no longer embarrassing the previous owner by running his numbers. I mixed and matched number plates from a different kit. Looks a little off, but not bad. Full kits are just too expensive. Not to mention how crappy it would look if I installed it! Lots of wrinkles and bubbles despite using water, etc.

you want to use soapy water , only a little bit of soap just enough to make it slip , spray it on the sticky surface then you can move the decal around into place and squeegee the liquid out from behind it ,use it in a spray bottle so you can spray it on the outside as well to minimize the friction on the decal itself when getting out all the air bubbles, little dab will do ya , let it dry before touching .

lookin' good!
it is a tricky process, and pretty un-fun, i use similar method mentioned above...
- remove old decals
- clean plastic completely (contact cleaner is helpful)
- wipe down with water
- wipe down with rubbing alcohol
- fill spray bottle with water, add a drop of dish soap, mix
- spray plastic completely
- spray back of decal completely
- postion onto plastics, move around as needed
- push bubbles from center out using a hard rubber or soft plastic squeegee
- let dry
- prick any air bubbles with a pin and squeegee

looks good...I actually put mine on dry usually. Nerve-racking but I usually end up with a good job
