Yeah, not to sure they are very strict with it.

I'll find you in the paddock and say hi. You have a Raptor, right?

I always seem to get pitted in the boonies. Last spring, I was on the track near the mx start gate.

I'll be there. Was playing it by ear this week, since I sprained my ankle last week wandering around Munich.

Grey Pilot with an aluminum 5x8.
C-vet #910. White/teal ktm, with crappy homemade numbers.
I'll try to introduce myself at least at the start line, if not otherwise.

Just saw your post! Ill look for ya.

On the struggle bus bad. First moto went down twice , hit a tree, and had to bow out for brake issues.

Easy track as far as j days go, but the sand berms are killing me.

Brakes are fixed! Well rested for moto2!

Sand is hard. I have to remind myself to stay on the throttle even if it's a little through the berms, otherwise the front tips over and you end up on the ground quick. Stay further on the back wheel too.

Hope the second moto was better.

Just watched the preview, the woods look crazy tight, not surprised you hit a tree. Extreme section looks fun. The jumps look pretty nice too.

Wish some of these tracks were available to ride for ride days without the race part of things. They look like they would be fun to ride.

Re: JDAY Offroad MXGP Round 12! Sandbox GP in Rumney, NH

    Post race report!

-Great to meet you MHenry600, always love meeting new people who are into the same things. One of the things I miss most about living in MA is getting to meet so many more people. Wonderful family! You son looked good on my sons TC50.... Couldn't quite touch though. You must have lapped me at some point?

-My friend who races with me almost got the holeshot and finished 7th on the weekend!

-It is SO much easier/better racing in ~58 degree temps than ~88 degree temps!

-I suck in the sand. twice I just lost the front over the berms and fell over.

-While I just do this for fun, and I did NOT grow up riding dirtbikes, it kinda bums me out to ride so slow/shitty. Larger courses I get some room to breathe and maybe get lapped once, this was a very short course and I got lapped multiple times and had fast bikes up my ass a lot. I started 4th wave, pro ladies started 1st wave, and maybe 1/3 into the first lap I was already getting overtaken by the fast ladies. Got my first DNF on the first moto, which sucks because one of my main goals is to just finish. One lowside I twisted my bark buster and it got into the brake lever so when I grabbed front brake, it wouldnt release when I let go. It was a pretty fucking hairy time until I could get to a good place to exit the track. Unfortunately I was racing with a possible broken left finger and that made clutching tough (appointment at 2:30 today for x-rays, hurt it last Thursday). My friend who I ride with lapped me as well.

-Luckily sand is soft because I ate it a few times pretty well. I did shoulder a tree pretty fucking hard too but stayed up. No real damage to the bike and I'm fine other than sore.

-I made an effort this time to lean forward more as well as stand up more, and I can tell I was in that my legs are more tired. It is definitely the easier way though the shit and faster as well. Just less fatiguing during the race to stand up and use your legs than sitting down and taking a beating.

-The wave to feels is definitely super anxious leading up the the race, scary but rewarding during the race, bummed out cause I suck after the race, saying I wont do another, then after a few days I get hungry for the next one. I'm not sure I have fun at them? It's almost the challenge is rewarding? If it weren't for my son riding as well as having a friend go to them too, I am 99% sure I would just stop doing it.

-Im kinda not built for dirtbike racing lol, 6'4" 260 on a plated 500 is a lot of mass out there...

Beautiful day though, and nice to be outside with friends and family.

See you at Southwick! Maybe? lol

Of course the video doesn't look as bad as it felt hitting the tree. Ill edit and upload soon. The extreme section was tit, not hard at all, other than loose sand. Jumps were pretty small. I had trouble getting traction to accelerate hard enough to do any jumping at all. In hindsight I should have taken a shitload of air out off my tires. Aired up DOT tires weren't helping.

Nice to meet you too. Same here, it's always good to put a face to the name.
Katie had mentioned that she saw you while walking back, and Ryan was telling me all about the TC. We had to convince him that he's almost ready, but not quite yet. haha.
Yeah, I must have lapped you, but no idea where.
I should be able to get my videos uploaded tonight. There are a couple of sections I want to watch anyway.
Had a pretty good day with a 20/27 and 17/27. Finished ahead of some of the other names I usually see, so that feels pretty good.
Slowly getting a little better, but not by much. Just need to ride more.
Need to work on my arm pump. I felt pretty good otherwise, but get to a point where I have to ease up so that I can hold on and not take out a tree.

Should be able to make it to Southwick, we'll see.
I'm contemplating the Hollis Turkey Run next weekend too, but not sure yet.

I had thought about getting a new rear tire before this myself, more sand biased (for Southwick too), but didn't and ran my fairly worn MT16 at 10-11 psi. Front was 11-12. I'd have gone a touch softer if it was just the track, but there were a few rock sections in the woods I didn't want to pinch on.

    Here's my uploads from Sunday.
In moto 1, 15:50 in the first video I totally nerfed an older guy out of the line on accident.
But karma got me two laps later (5:20 in second video). Made a pass in the same spot, knifed the front going into that turn/hill, and tipped over.
A couple little battles otherwise, and a few decent passes.

Oh, forgot about the big cluster F on the first lap. First video at 10:25.

You guys running 18" or 19" rear tires? Might have a sand tire to donate to the cause but I'm not sure what size wheel it is for.
