Jen will yes be riding the Entry-level track at Milestone when we go there. I'm probably still a few weeks out from riding again at full strength. We are going to Perris tonight so she can ride the Vet track there under the lights.

Cleaned the bike up last night and took some glamour shots during the lunch break just now. Clean machine!

haha. yea that stand is pretty high. I have two stands and the other one is 'normal' and that one is a damn skyscraper. I'm 6'1" and have a bitcha time putting it up on that thing.

Can't stand a dirty bike. If you clean your bike after every ride it stays clean much easier. Jen and I have a system down where we can come home after riding and have two bikes cleaned and back in the garage within about a hour. That includes cleaning our boots. Tracks in CALI actually don't have much mud so sometimes I'll go one or two rides if it's not that bad.... but yea. Working on a dirty bike sucks.

ahhah. yea depends how many mudpits you go through! I used to do same thing back in MA
Hose off the big stuff. Let the water seep into the caked on dirt under the fenders. Hose off again 3 minutes later. Mud comes off easier. Then either soap&rub it off or use Hondabrite. Then rinse again. Wipe down with towel. Armor all plastics. Hoses. Lines. Simple Green. WD-40. Chainlube. Done.

wow, good stuff - I need to make a routine too!

I did Adams supermoto last Sunday, and had to do an airport drop off immediately after, so the bike's been sitting covered in clay dust ever since...

I gotta get it done right after the ride!

Re: JRO-D's new dirty bike! RINGDING

Radiators arrived a day early. Construction seems decent, weld's aren't perfect rows of nickels but they're consistent enough. Bracketry is all in the right places, etc. Radiator cap is a bit of a PITA to get on and off, no biggie. What stopped me though is the right radiator has a 45deg fitting on the down spout, OEM is straight. At the very least it means finding a new hose to make the longer run and hopefully bend correctly, but they also welded the cross over too close to the end so I'd be worried about getting a clamp on correctly as well.

    Bah.

I've contacted the seller, we'll see what they say.

I was really hoping to be able to ditch the zipties for holding the front shrouds on finally too.

Guys on the vital mx old school threads seem to like the hinese radiators. The guys on other parts of that site are 90% armchair riders.

Always thought the ktm 200 was a great New England woods bike but very softly sprung for whoops or jumps stock.

They must have the pattern dialed in better for the other bikes, tried mounting the right hand unit today and both the upper and lower hose barbs are far enough out of whack that they foul the frame and motor. No amount of hose tricker is going to work around those issues so I guess back to china they go. I'm kinda pissed about it now, was really looking forward to having the last real hack gone from my machine.

I FINALLY got myself into the same routine as those guys. 505 & a chip brush makes things SOOOOOO much easier. Wax on, wax off.

almost been a week and a half and the bike is still dirty...I'll clean it today, then get a routine for next time

A13x! how did the first ride go??

and I get out at 5:30 on friday 7/19 - you guys going to ride after work? park is open until 9pm, sunsets around 8 but the novice track is lit for night riding.

if I can ride an XR100 on the novice track, I can still have fun on the DR200...I just to get an mx tail (probably off a smaller bike, like an RM80) so I can swap out the rear lights and turn signals

Re: JRO-D's new dirty bike! RINGDING

    Long overdue update.

Due to a number of items we had a bit of a false start with the CR. I ended up taking the jug off it and noticed that the piston/cylinder had some scoring. After dragging my feet on it for WAY too long... finally got it sent out to Millennium Technologies to have them work their magic on it. We ended up going with a 134cc kit and they massaged the porting and power valve to give it a smoother bottom-end and mid-range 'hit'. Sethro came up Saturday and we installed the beautiful bling bling parts, watched some Supercross, and the bike fired up 2nd kick! After that it's fired up first kick every time.. nice.

Sunday we hit up Milestone and Jen looked pretty comfy on it right away. In the meantime she's been riding Seth's RM125 a bit but she looked really good on the CR. Lowered seat helped for sure. Overall a good day, few tip overs, but she's fully graduated from the mini tracks and now up to the Beginner and Vet level tracks. Tomorrow night we are going to Perris where she really digs the Vet track (pretty empty and mellow) so that'll help her continue to get used to the 2-stroke style.

Can't say enough good things about the guys at Millennium Tech. They took great care of us and are best in the business at what they do. Hit em up. http://www.mt-llc.com/
