    Kold Kutters?

I'm thinking about doing a 2hr enduro race next weekend in CT with JC. Weather looks like it's going to warm up and rain a bit this week, but thinking I should have studs for the frost underneath.

My question is can I just buy Kold Kutters and screw them right into the tread of my existing tires? They are shot, so I don't care about ruining them. Just wasn't sure if KK's were made for this type of riding or more for ice racing? Also, there are a bunch of options for length and such. Guessing I need something short enough to not pierce all the way through to the tube.

    Re: Kold Kutters?

Essentially, I'm trying to be as lazy as possible with this. Lol

If someone wants to post a link to what I need, even better. Thanks.

Check the rules, IIRC screw ins aren’t legal ‘cause of the risk of them being thrown?

It says friction, car or grips studs. So what do I need?

not sure of rules, but I have put car studs on MC tires, drill stud pockets, insert with pneumatic gun

    Re: Kold Kutters?

There was a guy named Mike Casta that used to make them, I think it was Mikes Studded tires or something similar. Definitely cannot use screw in studs/kold Kutters for enduro/on land events.

I'm thinking of going with Gripstuds. That's one of the ones listed on the flyer and they screw into your treads. They are kind of pricey, but everyone seems to love them and they can be pulled and installed in other tires.

I appreciate the offer. If you were closer and I felt like mounting a tire, I might take you up on it.

I think the studs are a better option though. Then I can do the front too.
