    So, that's where the frame came from. It (the 350) looks like a 29er mt bike with those big wheels.

    In the real tough stuff, the electric bike would rock... sort of a glorified mountain bike!.

    I wonder if you get into a tough muddy section though... if it would kill the battery too quick?

    I know KTM weight claims are dry, no fuel or fluids at all. The claimed weight of my 200 XCW is 208 lbs dry according to the manual
    The magazine mixed up the yz125 with the yz250, should be:

    yz125 = 208
    yz250 = 227

    hah, it does look like a 29er... i cant wait for electric dirt bikes. sneak anywhere. but yeah, probably will take a while to produce one you can really abuse like a traditional bike. still would rock as a basic trail bike. mtb on steroids.

    seth, that makes much more sense on the weights.

    seems the trials-type bikes with long range seats could resurface in the mainstream. i remember more of these type of bikes when i was a kid (ala Honda Reflex) i know a bunch are still made but def more niche, like trials.

    2012 Ossa Explorer

    2012 Ossa TR 280i guess you can add a long range kit to this also. what a beautiful bike, DI-2T, sexy little exhaust, great design details, 148lbs

    What I really want is one of these:

    50mph, 50 mile range out of 116 lb full-suspension DH mountain bike. Too bad it costs 10k...

    yeah, there's a bunch of cool projects out there. electric and gas. but any time i see a demo vid the bike itself just looks flimsy (e.g. ZERO) when ridden hard, like its stressing the limit of the components which are usually more MTB style than Moto. tiny.

    that's changing fast though.

    hmmm... I think the consensus was Saturday for this ride.

    Any chance you guys can still make it?

    As for parking, I think we just go to the spaulding road lot.

    Any idea what your plans are? I get 3 different forcasts for 3 different places I check, but it does seem whatever is going to fall will be mid to late afternoon

    I really like most of that bike. The lower seat height and 218 lb weight seems perfect. The 24 HP number seems much too low for me at first. It all depends on the power curve. If it makes 25 Ft/LBS of torque at 4500 rpm then they could be on to something.

    I would buy a 32 HP version of that though.

    As with most modern corked up dirtbikes, I'm sure you can get 32hp from it and keep it reliable.

    What about the Freeride E ?

    If they made that thing do you could put 75 or so miles on it, I bet I could talk my wife into buying it for me.

    Can you imagine a trials tire on that E-ride on some knarly, rocky NE trails? I think it might actually have advantages over a combustion powered machine.
