    I can't deny nor confirm that..wait, what

Back on topic. Four oil changes later and I can still see moisture in the window, though the last oil change the oil wasn't quite as milky. I'm out of oil and filters so it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I'm confident all will be good with another oil change

I'm sore as hell though, hadn't been on a ride like that in quite a while. Good riding with you'z today Bob, Sean and Todd

I almost didn;t bring my camera today .

    http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...&postcount=550

I'm still amazed that we did 50+ miles and got the water out of a bike in under 4 hrs at pachaug, granted there is a bit of dirt roads and pavement in the loop but we were moving right along on the single track .
great day for sure . thanks guys

Hey mark, I'm not sure if it would help, but why wouldn;t you just keep the drain plug out, oil filler cap off and air filter off, and just let it drain out for a couple days? or is there worry that things might blush rust in there with moisture and no oil ? I'm asking because I don't know.

would it be helpful to put some wd40 in with some oil and run it for a while until its warm and drain, being that WD40 stands for Water Displacement 40th formula ?

I don't know really? I was happy to see no dirt or grit in the filters so I'm not all that worried. I had a gallon of Mobil1 that I used to flush it out 4 times, then put in the spectro oil. At least everything has a good coating

I have some of the disposo cameras , i'll have to start using them again , as you can get better action shots in rapid sucession where a digital camera just can't perform .

SO mark , when are we riding pachaug again ?

We should do a spring camp out in Mt Misery?

I just saw that posted on adventure rider. That's one section of trail that won't break my heart to bypass...hmmm maybe the ledge climb as well. I'll borrow Bob's 530 for that section

Run it. Before you do the next oil change, run it. Under a load, and get it to full operating temp. Ride it around the yard for a little while. That will boil out the remaining moisture. Then do the last oil change and you'll be all set.

thats the process i just followed last week for my Husky i dunked twice. 4 changes later, with a few loops of the yard in between each change and shes all set. no more milkshake. i used a little Seafoam with each change as well.

    great pics!

It's not until later the next day when you realize how much a ride kicked your ass

The bike is resting in the basement for now, once it dries up a bit outside I'll rip it around the trails for a lap or 2 and change the oil again

    Re: Got Milk?

    I had a 400EX that I dunked.

Put 4 gallons of oil through it and at least 6 filters before I felt remotely good about firing the engine.

Hope it works out for you in the long run.

why would you have to change the filters if you never fired up the motor between changes?
isn't it only when the motor is running that you force oil through the filter?

I would think that you would want to dump the oil that has all the water in it, change the filter
put fresh in and a new filter then ride it around the yard or atleast run it until its hot and change the oil and filter and repeat until you have clear oil again ,
by simply changing oil with out firinng up the bike you are not circulating the oil to the top of the motor to flush out the contaminants , its the same reason you want to warm the enging before doing an oil change , to put all of the particles in suspension in the oil so they drain out .

i am actually asking here because I don;t really know and I would like to learn so I know what to do should it ever happen to me .

I failed to include the part where I was only turning the motor over rather than firing it up.

Oil still pumps even when the motor's being turned over.
