    Monday ride

Anybody want to come out here this afternoon. Perfect riding weather. I'll be going out for a couple hours later. It warms up by 2 or 3pm pretty nicely.

    where exactly are you?
I got the day off but have a ton to do around the house. Was going to hit up Hodges this afternoon since it is 10 minutes from me.
That is, if I can get some work done first.

    Hey Paul,

Not to hijack, but Renee and I are going out around 1 or 2 ourselves.

Real tame dual sport stuff... trying to get her comfortable off road again.

Anyone with street legal motards is welcome to join us... no knobbies needed for this stuff.

We'll be riding around Hampden, MA (SouthEast of Springfield, MA)

Tempting... I'm gonna get some distanzias (block tread) for this bike, then I'll be up for dualsporting it more. Mud is incredibly tough with the tall profile race tires I have on there.

    Re: Monday ride

Track was mint. THe quads yesterday dried the puddles up just enough to make the line a little wider and more forgiving. Just 2 bikes there today, so ripping was in order. Worked on keeping my body forward even in the whoops and sand. Made a huge difference in throttle control and reduced effort a lot. I was doing 6-8lap sessions without fatiguing. lights go on so that's how they do it... so many people have told me lean back in the sand/whoops and pin it. That's pretty bad advice, and it took me a while to figure that out.

6 - 8 lap sessions on the sand side only? or were you linking sand + dirt? haven't heard you mention the dirt track lately.

Nah, dirt side a too greasy and wet. Just sand for the rest of this season.

    Re: Monday ride

That worked for a while, but it puts a lot of strain on my shoulders and the whoops here are harsh. It also leads to the ole whiskey throttle as I get tired. I still lean back when I need to keep the nose up, but it's not needed as often as I imagined, especially as I can carry more speed in the nuetral/forward position.

I guess what I really mean is to keep my shoulders far enough forward that I don't get to the point of riding with outstretched arms. That's were control gets lost.
