You're assuming they would sell 30% more tickets at 40. I bet it would be more like 5% more sales. Not effective for the business.

I guess i just figured for less money people would go more often. I know that would be the case for me. Esp knowing i likely wouldn't last all day at first. Going multiple times to build endurance. Sorta how i view rock
Climbing. At 10 to 15 a day i'll go 3 to 4 times a week. I'm not making sense i just woke up i'll try again later

That would mean they would get 120 for the winter season out of you. How many times would you go if it was 20 dollars? Once a week?

So would that also mean that if they jump it up to 80 it would only be 5% loss in sales. 100 a day would only be a 10% loss in sales. What if they charge 150 a day. They would be rich huh?

If it was 20 a day I'd be there likely every weekend all weekend all winter. At 60 a day I probably won't go at all. If midweek is 40, I may go on occasion since I have some fridays off.

It's my opinion that it's not worth 60 to go for a day. It's my right to choose not to pay it, if that hurts their business it's not my fault.

I've paid 3 times that amount for 1/6th the track time, with an 8 hour drive one way... sure I may not go more than once a season to MotoTown seeing as it's 4+ from me and I'd need a hotel for the night, but it'd be the distance not the cost keeping me from spending a day with my buds railing indoors in the winter.

Hell, I would hate to run the numbers to figure out what equivalent indoor track time would cost at a kart facility...

With my attention span its more likely to get me to go more than once at a cheaper price. Its tough to justify 60 bucks for a couple hours before I get bored. Its a lot easier to justify 20 more often.
Kind of what killed skiing for me. That and the cold.

the bottom line is the building is huge and cost way too much money to put there...so making riding sessions 20 bucks will never happen. Hell, I don't know any outdoor tracks in new england open during the season that are 20 bucks. They are all 30-40 bucks.

Paul, you can never make a dirtbike crowd happy...EVER. People are going to bitch if it was $30 a day, why isn't it $20? Very few understand the costs of track upkeep, let alone the cost for NEMX to lease that building for 3 months.
If there's one thing I've learned about dirtbike riders over the past few years, they are the biggest bunch of crybabies of any motorsports I've ever seen...it's always something.

Jay said it best, no bitching, just rite to the point

Doubt Ill make it there again. Has nothing to do with the prices. I forget what it was last time I went but I felt the price was fair. The fumes in the building had me beat up for a few days after. Felt like I had my mouth on the end of the exhaust pipe. I also didnt like the fact they mixed the groups. Im horrible at motocross and I didnt feel comfortable out there with guys that were connecting the doubles.

What was the track surface like? I seem to read that people are saying it is very sandy and does not hold up well to the traffic.

Sandy? No it is not sandy. They did bring in a little sand last year just to get SOMETHING soft in there, but it made up exactly one corner. It's mostly hardpack and rarely ruts up.

What I have read is they sold all of the dirt from last year and where just left with the sandy stuff they used for a base.

Ya I guess it is quite different for now. People who rode this weekend said it got ROUGH to the point they had to groom it or people were gonna just cartwheel off the track haha. Def. different than last time I rode there last year! I think ti will be less sandy as time goes on but we'll see.

here is the latest news I found on prices:

"I got a piece of paper while there that says they are now going in 2 hours ride sessions, $40 for 2 hours, $60 for 4 hours. $10 dollars for each additional 2 hour session after that with track maintenance between each 2 hour session and limited to 50 bikes per session. You can reserve you space in each session onilne via credit card. From the looks of it, this is to keep over crowding to a minimun, to allow fumes to clear out and for track maintenance between each 2 hours session."

That sounds like there will be no grouping based on ability. I don't really want my first attempt at something like that to end with someone jumping and landing on my head or getting shoved in a corner. Pricing sounds decent to me for a 2 hour session...

That said, if there are cocky assholes in my group that rode too aggressively and launched me I would be inclined to kill / throw my bike, helmet, body, anything solid to cause pain at them till they stopped moving.... so its probably not the place for me.

I wonder how they're gonna enforce that structure. Who gets there when, who has a 4 hour session, who has 6.

I am also curious to see what they call a 2 hour season. Is it 2 hours on the track or from 10:00 till 12:00 with a couple of 20 min sessions.

2 hours of actual track time is a decent amount of time on an mx track but 40 mins out of 2 hrs is not that good.

I assume that it's open track for the entire 2 hour session? As in, you can get on/off the track as many times as you want. This also implies no skill grouping.
