    mx reading

is there an equivalent of twist of the wrist, for mx?

youtube = too basic/advanced, or short

google = ads for mx schools (most google search results are for money instead of info nowadays??)

both knees whacked and 1 expensive trip to the ER later, I'm trying not to kill myself on this YZ250

MX riders don't usually know what the hell they do on the bike. They just do it. Semics has the most analytical approach out there. Noting else really comes close.

Although Like slow Kermit said, Dirtwise by Shane Watts is great. uch simpler than Semics, but highly effective. Has a woods focus, but all applies to MX.

+1 for Semics. his printed manual, DVDs and streaming clips are all great. i've done the streaming rental thing a few times through his site, nice option. sign up for his newsletter too, he does frequent tips and clips.

+1 for Wattsy as well, i've got a few of his DVDs, i watch them over and over.

another series you can look into is Motocross Skills from Transworld. think there are 3 DVDs in the series and some 'Riding Tips' streaming clips

ThumperTalk's newsletter also usually has ride tips from Semics and Watts (text and video).

I feel like that's more mx racers being assholes. Mx is alot bigger and more competitive and thus the pits are alot less friendly. At least that's how I feel and what I've seen.

    Re: mx reading

I am looking for the analytic approach...that's how I learn...going to try semics and see if I can go 3x/month (more if I can get a plated MX 2-smoker somehow)

it's going to be tough to scratch my "adopted" riding style though...I'm really comfortable riding poorly...so I tried some of the basics today (elbows up/attack position, 2 fingers on clutch/brake, screwdriver throttle, pushing bars down/side in berms) and it was completely new muscle memory...need to fight my old/bad habits and keep practicing

but riding dirt is just so therapeutic...I feel so calm and leveled out after a good few sessions. Better than any xanax would do...
