    MX207

The track is open. This weekend is a normal open practice weekend, weather looks to be crap on Saturday, Sunday could be viable.

Next weekend is the 'ATV Jamboree' so expect quads both Saturday and Sunday. There will also be a roach coach on site providing food, pig roast, mud runs, drag races, etc. Could be good times, could be quad-fail. http://mx207.com/images/jamboree2011.pdf

Not yet, I know where there is a tool in Mass to do the job, I also just scored a good deal on a Helicoil kit on ebay (I like owning tools) for MUCH less than I initially feared. Should arrive Monday or Tuesday, which means my fork will be fixed that day. Saturday I'm hoping to finally sort the clutch if my lock-tab washers have arrived. At that point the WR's list of faults will be reduced to:

    - Purple seat, really?
    - Suspension could use some TLC/bushings/fluid
    - Seriously, a purple seat? What the hell?
    - I need to put washers on the radiator mounting bolts so they don't suck into the bushings
    - One radiator could stand to be 'tweaked' so I can stop using zip-ties on one shroud
    - My seat is purple, this is unacceptable. It's also got a couple small tears, so I can at least justify a new cover with a straight face.
    - I should take a stab at wiring up the headlight just so it looks more functional
    - I should time-sert the drain plug, the existing threads looked at me funny the other day

Ha! I had to recover my blue/pink KDX seat to save face, so I know where you're at! I found a good quality cover on ebay pretty cheap.

    Hey Josh,

You may want to add the fact that your seat is PURPLE to your punchlist.

    Sincerely,

    DDK

Noted. Just to clarify, a purple frame is good to go though, right?

For sure. That's stylish. The seat is just silly.

    Sweet the beast is running!

Did you get your carburation issue that you were experiencing last year at Clough straightened out? Hope you did, I don't think your right leg can take all the kick starting you had to do that day.

    Re: MX207

Had a ball at MX207 today. Riding plus pig roast plus watching quads and riders get buried in a mud hole was fun. What sealed the deal was the ice cream truck showing up at 3pm, then it was a PERFECT day.

They've added a ton of sand to the track, it's much softer than I remember last year. Some of the turns were down right fluffy if you were ouside a beaten line. It also got beat up faster and worse than I ever recall seeing. A couple jump faces were very rutted by the afternoon. Still fun though, and I suspect a good primer for what I'm in for next month...

The WR is up and running. Front brake is still dragging but I've got a fix on the way, a 2005 CRF250 brake system. I'm hoping a 13 year newer setup might behave a bit better? Rear brake is WAY too touchy, I need to lower the lever as I keep hitting it on landings and stalling the bike. Surprised the crap out of me the first time I did it. (Did I mention I'm getting both wheels off the ground now, at the same time even!) Jetting is close, but not perfect. Just off idle to 1/4 or so is hit or miss, sometimes it rips immediately, other times it chugs. More throttle and it'll light up so I suspect it's a pilot or needle issue at most. Restarts were no issue today, as long as I rolled the motor to just past TDC and gave it a good whack it'd light first kick nearly every time when warmed up. Cold it takes a couple plus choke to wake it up. The new gearing helped a ton also, I can crawl in 1st now. Clutch is also semi-cooperating as well.

I've got house stuff to take care of so I won't be out Sunday, should find a weekend to get everyone around to play soon, now that I have a viable toy.

    Re: MX207

Congrats on getting the bike together and rideable (special consideration for doing it before Seth managed to get his much newer bike to the same condition). Now go ride the snot out of it so you can have the fun of breaking more stuff and fixing it again!

And I'm really jealous of all of you that have dirty bikes right now. I'm really starting to jones for twisting throttles.

aha Kurlon cursed me. I finally put all my shit back on my frame today and put gas in the tank to finally break it in. Tank petcock starts dripping fuel so I had to drain it and get a new gasket for tank

    Re: MX207

What?! How is that MY fault?! If it's my fault I want to be responsible for fixing it.

And then registering it under my name, and riding the snot out of it.
