Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
Yikes. Over that rock is really sumtin.
The dirt bikes sat in a corner of the garage far too long, so we took them up to the in-law's place in ME last weekend. Their hayfield had just been cut so it was a perfect place for newbies to ride, and not-so-newbies to brush up a bit.
Here's my older girl on the '03 XR100. Of my kids, she has the most riding experience in the dirt, and occasionally rides an MZ on the street.
One of my daughter's friends - it was her first time riding a motorcycle. She's a natural and totally hooked on it.
And my younger girl on the 'new' KLX250. She crashed on the XR a few years ago and it spooked her enough that she hadn't ridden since. After about an hour riding the XR, she wanted to try the 'big bike'. Before the end of the day she was psyched about getting it into 3rd gear. So was I. It was great to see her having fun on a bike again.
The view from the in-law's back porch at the end of a long hot day. For us, this may be the most relaxing place on earth.
The good news was that all the kids had a blast riding (me too, on my 620 RXC). The bad news is they all wanted to ride the KLX, and they're all big enough for it. I guess the XR100 will be on the market soon, along with some new and almost new outgrown riding gear.

I love seeing the kids learning how to ride dirt bikes! I am not much of a "Big Air" guy anymore, though. Age, arthritis, and pain have a lot to do with that. Slamming through rock gardens is tough enough on my knees for me.
I'm with my youngest on a Sportsman 90 while my oldest rides solo on his power wheels. I recently started taking my oldest on the KTM for some mild cruises up the class 6 road behind me. He's absolutely thrilled and can't wait until he can "ride his bicycle without training wheels" so he can "get a dirt bike like daddy."

Family . . . What its all about
I got home from work a bit early today and was bored. I spent 2+ hours cleaning my KTM...mostly with a toothbrush!
I didn't think it was gonna clean up that well after I let a friend use for an enduro and a hair scramble!
Sorry, no action pics of me anyways...I think I've ridden the bike myself once or twice all season so far
