Jesus that kid could barely hold onto the bars after turn 1. No business on track.

I told Pete that we can race in the same class next year (250 class) and he just laughed at me

Two words of advice for that boy... STAY CENTERED.

If he rode the back fender any more, the tire would have cut his nuts.

But... that was some funny shit.

    ehehe.

Yesterday at the Fox Ride Day I found myself in a pack of about 6 or so guys for a few turns. NOT like roadracing. Banging bars and swapping lines all over the track while getting roosted in the face. Intense.

Yeah... in my VERY BRIEF motocross career (4 races?)... it was definitely a different world from LRRS.

It was quickly apparent that I SUCK at doing Whoops.

I'm sure I looked a whole lot worse that that guy doing the jumps...

Somehow I didn't see you once while I was ontrack I wanted to roost ya!

Tony: I'm making it a point to work on charging the whoops. Yesterday at Crow the first sand staight had some nice whoops building up. Too bad Marshall and Ainsworth (both AMA Lites riders) pasted me in them like I was stopped.

    Alex,

Crow Hill was NAS-T yesterday afternoon. Worst it's ever been while dry I heard. They didn't do anything to it for grooming.

Huge potholes in the front strait that grabbed your front end. The whoops were insane on the left side. It was darn hard to keep a good rythm. I was hittin it pretty decent by the end of the day, but I was still getting passed easily. I DID pass a guy on a KTM today though, I was stoked! I also passed a KX80 even though I gotta hand it to the kid, he was crankin. I was clearing every single table top and jump they had which was something I couldn't do last time. The doubles, they are fuuuuuuuun

    Observations:

When I sit on the bike, my front end doesn't compress more than 1/2".

    She jumps REALLY good.

    I suck at braking.

I had no feeling at all for traction in the front end

So basically it was untouched from when I left there at 3pm on Monday. Yea, the track was getting roughed up pretty good as the mud dried out Monday.

Glad to hear you had fun. See my Factory Connection thread and you'll be pinned.

Thats the kind of shit that happens to me when I decide to try and send my machine hurtling through the air. I guess some people are just natural MX'ers and can quickly figure out how to control the bike in the air.

How the hell do you do it? Do you have to be drunk so you dont tense up?

Pete, if you start racing dirt AND lrrs, I'm going to be pissed.

They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

Holy shit, I just watched this. When he jumps that berm, it kills me! Pete, That is almost exactly what you did, Only there wasn't a pick-up truck outside the berm! You were more "cautious" over the jumps though.

Serious safety flaw at that place btw!

Rebel, You surely don't lean back like that guy did. That's for wheelies, not jumps.

He must not have ever practiced on a track to ride that poorly.

At crow Hill there was a guy doing the opposite. He'd wheelie it off the jumps, but quickly hump the gastank in the air, pulling the handlebars to his waist. We were watching and laughing and 3 jumps later he piled it and got hurt.

I gues jumping is not natural, rather learned by trial and ERROR!

hahaha, almost... but i knew i woulda launched off the berm if i didn't bail beforehand, so that's what I did... plus i was aimed more off to the edge of the berm, not right up the middle so it wasn't nearly as disasterous

You control the bike thru body english and throttle / brake imputs. I control my MX bike like a bicycle, meaning I mainly rely on body english. A trait learned from my bicycle dirtjumping antics. However, 200lb motorcycle doesn't always respond to 'soft' body moves and that's when you use the machine to do what you want.

Front end too high - Step on the rear brake. Drops front. Stop the rear wheel too long and it will stall in midair thou.. bad.. use clutch. You can also use the front brake the stop the front wheel, and drop the front end, but landing with a non-rotating front wheel upsets the bike sometimes. Careful with that one.

Front end too low - Open the throttle up. Gassing it in mid-air will RAISE the front end. Holding it wide open bouncing off the rev limiter thou in midair is a baaad idea.

Tensing up / freezing up is also known as a Dead Sailor. That's never so good because you just are 'along for the ride' and at the mercy of wind / dirt / bike / fate. Normally a Dead Sailor turns into the Flying W.

My 07 Agenda has LRRS, NEMX, and OVRP Supermoto on it.. no hating
