Hm. Looks amazingly simple. One of those "why didn't anyone think of that before?" kinda designs.

You got a cheater clutch yet? Having a lhrb doesn't seem all that advantageous without one.

    Re: OX-Brake (LHRB)

not yet, but i havent quite got the knack of operating the rear brake well while standing, especially when going downhill if i need to check my speed. this may help with that with that even without the rekluse. they are a little pricey. i think this is all i need: KTM 250/300 SX/XC/XC-W ('99-'05) - Rekluse Motor Sports Store
or this: Rekluse Motor Sports z-Start Pro Clutch KTM 250/300/380 99-03
ill be honest i dont know what i need or the difference between them. theres another option thats like $800 as well

i still think having a LHRB without a cheater can work... i'd like something like this just for a little drag when needed

I prefer the Zstart, but different strokes, ya know? I saw these recently on the interweb, seems simple and easy. I haven't heard anything first hand though.

    Re: OX-Brake (LHRB)

Rear brakes on steep downhills is a bad idea anyway. Dragging it a little in tight turns and ruts is about all it's good for.

    Re: OX-Brake (LHRB)

The a start is definitely the more rugged offering. The ring used to be a cheap way in. I had one for a couple years, but it's pretty shot. It still works, it just makes a bunch of rattling noise because the aluminum is a bit worn and stretched, and lots of the friction material is worn off.
I have yet to install the z-start.

I'm constantly on the rear brake during steep downhills. Maybe it's a different experience?

    Re: OX-Brake (LHRB)

I know that everyone has different approaches, and both brakes are usually best, but think about a steep downhill. Which wheel has any weight on it? What happens on a steep when the rear locks up? I do drag it on some steeps, but better speed and control comes from good front brake modulation. The rear is often in the air, or close enough.

    Re: OX-Brake (LHRB)

Am I doing it wrong? I slide all the way back on down hills and weight the rear a lot. I also try to use the brake a lot on down-hills.

I was also using the brake a lot today on the ice. Very difficult to modulate while wearing heavy dirt boots. Several times I stalled the bikes getting carried away.

I feel like a LHRB is something I might really like.

Yes, you're doing it wrong. Too much brake = slow.

You kids and your fancy new fangled clutches and brakes. When I was a kid and riding in the woods we had 2 strokes and hand clutches..... Lol

Yea hh, that's where I'm at. I'd like one cheater device though.
Obviously there's a market for this stuff, even for lifetime wood ticks.
