The wife and I were headed to marks for the weekend, and as it turns out , Tom picked up a brandy new KTM and not only was it the first time that it hit the dirt , it was Tom's first knobbie tired ride . What better way to break him in than at marks place with all the rocks, and tight corners through the woods.
We got un loaded and headed out for a few laps .
Tom was doing well for never had doing it before, and on a bike that hasn't been set up for the woods yet, still geared tall and sprung pretty stiff.
Mark cheated and went back to get tom to show him the line over the big rock,
this is usually a good spot to set up for pics. beginners luck I guess
the rock garden didn't bring him to the ground like I had anticipated , good job.
we stopped for a break ,
and todd showed up
it was time to bring him over to todds side and get him up the hill.
no one expected a traffic jam on the hill, todd usually makes it right up .
but being 3rd and only 1/2 way up, best thing to do is turn around and try again
only thing is in order to turn around , you actually have to "turn " the handle bars , other wise you end up in the trees
here comes the back up .
finally down , time to ride up un obstructed .

not too bad for a first timer .
after a bit of a break , we went after it again for a few more laps in the dusty woods .
being the newbie , you get to be in the back and get covered in it .
Mark thanks again for the hospitality , good times as usual , the burgers were beeeeerrrrrraaaaappppp, er I mean good .
Tom , gear that bike down soon and most of your issues will go away , especially now that the suspension is softer , get further up the tank in the corners so you can gas the rear end around and I highly recommend a hydration pack .

Good times, good times. Was a totally different ride then I was use too, to say the least. Was starting to get the hang of it, kinda. But thanks for putting up with my total newbie self in the dirt riding world. Kinda felt bad making you guys wait those couple of times. I will get it sooner or later!

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
Awesome write up and picture story SeanIt was great to see you and Leah again..what's it been a week?
The pile-up on the hill was kinda funny even though Todd says he didn't fall...it was his fault..haha Your camera takes a surprisingly good video as well.
To bad it rained today, I was looking forward to some more miles!
Don't worry about holding any of us up..Sean likes that because he can take lots of pictures..haha Seriously tho, we were all there at some point, and the SuperMoto riding you've done has given you quite an advantage to get started.
Great time, thanks coming...and thanks for letting me try your new bike![]()
