Quad rider$

Here's your chance to show your stuff and get paid to do it Once again, i got invited back to the Washington County Fair in Richmond, Rhode Island for the motorcycle rodeo on Thursday 8-12-04.
Last year i got 5 quad riders including myself to race around a small mx track in front of the crowd. From what i heard last year, the crowd favored the quads over the dirtbikes by quite a bit We put on a good show, had a LOT of fun doing it, and got paid
Last year i was able to get free admission for each rider and 2 guests. I have 3 people including myself already and i'm looking for 2 more, 1 YFZ450 and 2 Raptor 660's. A field full of yamaha's would be cool but other sport quads are welcome
It's a small mx track so it'd be a good idea if you're comfortable jumping, hitting burms with some speed, whoops, and don't mind a little bar banging for the crowd
You'll need a current AMA membership number, and full gear is recommended but a good helmet with goggles, gloves, long sleeve shirt, pants, and over the ankle boots would be ok.
Last year we had a awesome time and only had maybe an hour total of ride time, the track was small, tight and had some pretty good jumps so after 3 laps, you felt like you've ridden all day.
We also need to be at the fairgrounds by 5pm if we want to get some practice laps in. The show doesn't start until 7:30 so if you're late, you just won't be able to practice any There will also be various dirtbike classes as well but that's not something i'm getting involved in with organizing riders.

Well that sucks Yeah, it's only a month and a half away and i'm sure your $38/year AMA membership wouldn't be ready in time if you signed up now

I get WD40 in the gallon cans at Benny's stores and use a small hand spray bottle, every time i wash the quad (after every ride), i spray everything but the pastics with WD

Not that i'm expecting any of you slacker quad riders to show but there has been a date change, it is August 12. I'm still looking for 1 more rider and i'll have some admission passes by this time next week.

Wow, what a great time Thanks to Bob M for coming out to watch..
There was a HUGE turnout of spectators this year and we put on a great show for them. We got the invite to return again next year as well. The track was small and tight but we made the best of it. A note to the guys setting up the track, don't use a trash can full of trash as a corner marker, when it gets clipped by a rear Raptor wheel, the trash goes everywhere
We got the 5 riders, 2 Raptors, 1 YFZ450, 1 yam Warrier, and a Polaris 500 for the adult quad class and As always, the kids class was very entertaining to watch.
