Paying the ticket is why it shows up.

The cop should have told you to get the inspection sticker done, contest the ticket and bring proof that you got the issue taken care of to the hearing. Most times, not a 100% guarantee, the magistrate when presented with the proof that you have rectified the issue will find you not responsible for the ticket and it will therefore not hit your record. Some people refer to these as fix-it tickets.

Sucks you were presented incorrect instructions.

Guess I am completely unaware that an inspection needs to be done on a motorcycle that will not be riden on road? Or the fact that one needs to be registered for off road riding. Is this just a mass thing? Or all new England?

If you put a street reg on said off road bike, then it needs a street inspection in most states.

Got a couple of these emails as well. I honestly didn’t pay much attention to them though.

    Re: RMV warning!

Well I just registered my 2022 300 TPI in Mass. I thought I was home free. WTF....

I may simply swap my plate and reg on my mid sized adv KTM and bring it to a place that never checks VIN's and sticker it. Then take the ADV bike to another shop with the correct plate and reg. LOL How to make an honest guy a lawbreaker...

Let's hope these warnings are a paper tiger without any teeth.

The email makes it seem like they are just emphasizing that you can be ticketed for operating an uninspected vehicle, and that they have records of which vehicles are or are not inspected. Maybe when you ride by a cop with a plate scanner it’ll flag you? It didn’t say anything about registration renewal or any other kind of proactive enforcement.

Ignore for now anyway. I've gotten 2 emails. Have more vehicles then that in need of inspection. So my plan is wait and see.

    Re: RMV warning!

Mass inspects everything. Which is insanely stupid. Like you buy a brand new car and it has to go through a safety and emissions inspection within 7 days. Just another money grab that serves absolutely no purpose.

    Re: RMV warning!

I also received 2 emails -both for my bikes - as I have not had them inspected since COVID started. So far, there is no threat of registration cancellation - so I intend to do the same as FirstDuc - wait and see.

Don’t you plate your dirty bikes in AZ and SD since you leave the bikes there most of the time and occasionally slug it over to MA for servicing?

    Re: RMV warning!

The Scooter shop we used to use for inspection said the tires didn’t have enough tread to pass inspection.

….They were brand new Pirelli Diablos.

If street plated in MA, does one still need a OHV reg/sticker to ride MA trails?

Technically, yes. Do the cops understand this? Not always.
