My CRF came with Acerbis guards. Maybe my levers are shorter than yours? The brake lever has a slight custom curve but even straight I think they'd clear.
Jeff
Yeah, mine hit, a lot. I'm gonna try finding spacers today or possibly bend them a little.
You can't slide the inner clamp outward?
Jeff
I could but I'd rather use a spacer of some sort. If it falls on it's side it'll get wedged in there pretty good, and I'm worried that will cause the throttle to stick and possibly hurt the levers.
Got a minute while at work to bring the small included washer with me to the local hardware store. Found some possibilities and bought em all. There are a couple small collars with grub screws that should be perfect, also picked up some bigger, thicker flat washers and some bushing that fit inside the handlebar that may be used either in conjunction with the grub screw collars or alone. I'll get up picks when I get a chance of how it went. Or perhaps they will go to the for sale section.

Here are the Cycras installed on my bike by the BPO.
My assistant indicates they smell OK.

Did you loosen the throttle mounting bolts and move the throttle 3mm to the inside to prevent binding? I'm not sure I'm seeing what plan to do with those washers. Don't be afraid to put the handguards in a vise and change the bend. The aluminum is soft enough to bend several inches. Leaving the inside clamping bolts slightly loose until the very end helps everything fall into alignment.
I knew I'd figure it out! Used the collars I picked up and also bent the protectors a little bit and they went together just fine, with extra room for my levers.
Also threw on a handlebar pad and took my mirrors off. Threw on a plastic folding one that I've seen on a lot of on/off road bikes. I'm pretty surprised on how well it actually works. Also took off the passenger pegs, left the right side mount on as it doubles as exhaust protection.
Once it was all done, I had to take it out in the yard. At first I thought my rear tire was flat, cause it felt a bit squirrely on acceleration. Ends up the ground was just really wet!
Look at the Double Take mirror. It's a great dual sport mirror and is very functional. Well worth the money.
Jeff
Those are the RAM mount mirrors, right? I've been looking at those myself. I think I only need one for the KLX. The factory mirrors are completely useless.
I think so, it's just a cheap $20 ball in socket type.
The Double Take is the RAM mount style and it's great. Great field of vision and no vibration plus it folds down in about any location. It's way better than those cheap Tusk style mirrors.
Jeff
Looks like I picked up the cheap version of the Double Take. They aren't too pricey and seem like they have a little more length for a better field of vision, I'll try to get one ordered this week. To pass MA safety inspection it is just the one left side mirror right?
Correct.

Thanks.
^^^what he said...for mirrors it also says reject if "Mirror does not provide a minimum of ten sq. inches of reflective surface for a convex mirror or 12 sq. inches for a flat mirror."...but you could probably get away with most mirrors...never saw an inspection station figure out the surface area of a mirror before
here are the MA motorcycle inspection regs...540 CMR 4.06 (scroll down to section 4.06)...

The area of a circle is Pi R squared, so it would need a diameter of at least 3.9" to pass.
Edit: Convex, 3.6"

3.9 for flat. That acerbis mirror that's mounted up should have a convex lens.

~3.6" (3.568") for convex round and ~3.9 (3.909") for flat round...but if the inspection station guy knows it's something dumb that won't technically pass they may say "you put that on after you came for this inspection right?"

i never had an issue with inspection when i ran 2.5" CRGs or 2.9" Oberons
Beta 200RR
I'll just throw the stock one on for inspection and fold the other one down.
So, took the passenger pegs off as I won't be having a passenger with me. However, after reading the inspection guidelines, it states there must be passenger foot rest for each passenger. Where this is technically a potential 2 passenger vehicle, should i just keep them on to avoid trouble?
Nobody is gonna look that close. If they ask, just say they're off, at home, in the garage...and I can bring th back by if you REALLY need to see them.
