I just picked up a real clean used 1999 Yamaha YZ400 for a songI gave it a quick check when I went to look at it and everything looked good, it even started pretty easy given the colder conditions. The clutch feels a little funny but it almost seems like the cable to me, I'll check that out tomorrow.
For now, I'll give it a quick cleaning, get rid of the black numberplate, get a Mass yellow plate for it, and charge the batteries in the screw gun and start studding
here's a link to the pictures from the add

What's wrong with using the KTM?

Wayne, I don't feel like sliding that KTM across the ice this winter and I want to save all it's life for next season![]()
I took it for a little spin today after work, the thing runs flawless other than a sticky throttle. Not sure what that is yet, I'm thinking the return pull cable spring is broken? No biggie there![]()
Minor adjustment to the clutch cable and some lube and that worked fine.
I'm sure I'll end up doing my usual and give it a quick disassemble, cleaning and greese all the moving parts but that may wait until after the ice![]()
The engine oil is spotless, air filter looked OK so I'm pretty confident it's been well cared for.

What would that involve? I don't really want to go crazy spending cash on it because I'm sure i'll be dumping it once the ice thaws. The plan is to just mess around on the ice and maybe set up a mini road course somewhere with a couple friendsOriginally posted by gmdboston
I'm picking one up this week end, do you want to set up the suspension for the ice too?![]()
