    Seat covers?

Anyone ever install a new seat cover on your dirty toy? I tried to install the black cover to complete my hurricane kit a little while ago and the staple gun hardly even nicks the plastic bending the staple all to shit. Any tricks on this? I've got one of those heavy duty Bostich hand held snap type staple guns using 3/8" staples.
    Thanks

    Seat covers?

I did mine, bought a 'powershot' electric one @ HD and 1/4" and 3/8" stainless staples.

But - I preferred using an old-school bostitch I found about halfway through the project. The staples for the p-shot fit fine and although a bitch to use, worked nicely.

The trick was to hold the gun TIGHT against the plastic when doing this, it's tough to pop through it but even the old B&D crappy weird one i had would do it on my 03 seat pan. You said you're bending staples - and thats not possible if you're keeping the gun pressed hard on the surface

    Seat covers?

throw the seat cover in a pillow case and put it in the dryer for a couple minutes,it warms up and gets stretchyer,is that a word ? and it's easier to get the wrinkles out.I bought the 19 dollar sears staple gun that pushes to the front instaid of the back, hard to describe but if you see it you'll understand, and use quarter inch staples.

Just be careful with these staple guns. You wind up thinking it's one of the older type and you dump a staple into your fingers when you decide to F around with it. My boss did this, I thought it was hilarious, he wound up walking around with a really swollen finger for about two weeks.

Not even going to comment on that one seeing I been using some sort of staple guns for work for the past.... oh say 15 years

I think I at least need to try a shorter staple for starters. Thanks for the tips
