Okay so we've picked a date for the next NESR Moto-X Get Together. It's going to be at a new venue (not Crow Hill) and something a bit more Northern to reach some new folks.
Track
The venue is MX207 in Lyman Maine and it's a very cool track. I've ridden it a few time (circa 2006) and it's basically the same still (of course some small mods to the track keeping it fresh). It's different from Crow Hill in that it doesn't have a sand section and it's a faster track. Few 5th gear tapped sections (on a 250F) whereas at Crow Hill I never take my bike out of 4th! Real nice mix of jumps from tables, doubles, step-ups, whoop sections and rhythms. Also for those who don't have a full size bike there is a cool little Mini-Track to shred, which was pretty fun last time I rode it.
Check the video below. As you can see the track has way more 'real' jumps than Crow Hill, which is cool. Don't get nervous either, Pete Oreo had never really ridden a dirtbike before (one trip to Crow Hill) and took his new KX250 there for the first time a few years back and cruised around just fine. Everything is rollable.
"We have two tracks at MX207, a minibike / pitbike track and our full size MX track. The big track has something for everyone from the super long table top that challenges the pros to the long straights that will delight the speed freaks to the supercross style double double section for the rider who wants to work on their timing. The entire MX track is watered by a powerful sprinkler system, in a few minutes they have the place watered to perfection"
Pricing
Big Track - $25
Mini Track - $15
Time
Track opens at 10am and goes till 6pm. Let's try and meet-up at 11am
Address
53 Bartlett Bridge Rd. (RT 202)
Lyman, ME
From the North on I-95
Take Exit 36, this is a spur off of I-95, take exit 1 and go left at the end of the ramp and proceed ½ mile to RT 112. Go Right on RT 112 and proceed 2 ½ mi. Take a left on Loudon Rd. (there is a white horse fence on the corner). IF you miss this turn you can stay on RT 112 until you reach RT 202 and then take a left on RT 202, a little longer but easier than turning around. Back to the horse fence, proceed 1.6 mi. on Loudon Rd to RT 5 (no sign). Take a right on RT 5 and proceed 7.8 mi to RT 202. Take a left and track is 4/10 mi on left..
There is also the option of taking RT 202 all the way from the Gray exit. (used to be Exit 11). This is a toss up. Most of the locals use RT 202 but if you are pulling a big rig you might want to stay on the highway longer.
From the South on I-95
I-95 North to Exit 32 (RT 111), go west on RT 111 to RT 35(5.6mi), take a right on RT 35 and proceed North to intersection of RT 5 (5mi), watch your speed through Goodwin Mills, take a left on RT 5 and proceed to intersection of RT 202 (3.6mi), turn left on RT 202 and the track is on the left (4/10mi).
