Dirt bikes for me as a kid were the biggest addiction out there. I came home from school and all I wanted to do was get out and ride. I also learned how money worked - I needed gas for the bike, gas cost money, I could earn money by doing chores - problem solved. Then I needed a new bike - hello mowing lawns, and shoveling snow. Somehow my parents figured out how much I loved riding - it was the first thing taken away when I screwed up.
Kids are going to get hurt - period. If they play soccer, ride their bikes, go out in the yard with their friends - someones coming home with a skinned knee... Get the gear for him, make sure it fits, and make sure he uses it. Another benefit - Christmas and Birthdays just got a lot easier - new gear.

That's awesome beet! I let Tovah ride me around on Cheryl's little 4-wheeler, just up & down our road. She's dyin' to get her own now! I can't wait to get 'em ALL on some kinda dirty toy. If you're ever stuck for a place to ride, pack 'em up and head on up. We usually go out on Sundays. Bikes, 4-wheelers, 3-wheelers, don't matter. We're even gonna get to play with a Coot next weekend (anyone remember those???)...

I got a big back yard small track swamp. Used to have a trail in the back yard. That lead to some nice riding, power lines, sand pits, dump,brown stone cliffs & a big pine forest. But the fuckers made a walking trail out if it that goes to Cheshire. Cops that will go after you no more dirt bikes on the trail or any place.
