Interesting that you went straight to cone valves. Did you just buy new forks, full cartridge conversions, or replacement midvalves?
The forks are the OEM parts. To be honest I don’t know beyond that. When I talked with REP they mentioned replacing the mid valves and asked me if I wanted to upgrade to cone valves. Me, knowing nothing expect cone-valves = good said yeah do that. So, putting that together I’m guessing that that’s where the cones went.
Also thanks for the recommendation on the ‘19. I think it’s really the perfect setup for me.
I wonder if a 'Trax' shock would get you your PDS feel back? It's supposed to basically defeat the rebound damping when there is air under the rear wheel to speed up it's return to traction, and then once it touches damping is restored. Haven't found that much info on them, other than it's WP's 'special' shock?
I had the same dilemma, and wen the same way, but XC-F 250. Mine is a 14 with the dreaded 4 chamber forks. But FC did the suspension at both ends and it is a good bike for mixed use. I'm actually now headed towards more (all?) woods riding as I have it in my new backyard. I may actually revalve things towards the woods side of things.
I haven’t considered the Trax shock. I’ll need way more time in different conditions, with some adjustments before I consider replacing the shock.
I’ve hear the 4cs are workable and some people like how they turnout, but really horrible in stock configuration. Did you find the bike is too tough in the woods?
The forks are pretty good now. I'm not a primadonna, but they were definitely dangerous in stock form. The bike is a bit of a pinball in certain conditions in the woods. I'm not that experienced out there, though, so I'm not sure how bad it is. The more I ride woods, the more I will know.
My 4cs’s ended up decent after 3x with a tuner. I never rode them stock, but when I first got them I put myself on the ground pretty hard a few times.
Conversely, the closed chambers on my 300 were spot on after one time with bill and then just a spring swap.
I keep telling myself I don’t have the itch for a dirtbike again. I certainly don’t have the itch to make the time for it. But I kind of want it. Kind of.

That looks like it came out from under the dash of something with three pedals...
I ordered it right after I bought the bike. I new I didn’t want a rekluse but I still wanted LHRB. Since then I’ve been riding and getting used to the foot pedal. I figure it’s worth installing and trying anyway. Maybe I’ll fall in love with LHRB again.
sweet, look forward to your report, they are wack looking ... wait, i thought this was a moto-focused bike?!
