I assume the name comes from the aftermath should you screw it up?

Ha, I *may* have launched my bike over a rock without me a few times. So, the splatter is not hard, it's staying on the bike that is truly difficult.

I've seen this move a few times. And I've always wondered why the wayward bike and rider didn't just try for an easier line up/over/and around whatever was in their path.

As for actually trials riding my 300, I don't know if my wallet wants to support all the smashed pipes that would go along with the learning curve. Plus, I can't think of one place on the entire netra circuit where a platter move would be the faster line. Unless there was carnage stacked up at some stopper somewhere.

It's not for racing, it's for bragging rights. You have to admit that it looks impressive.

    Certainly.
There are races where this is applicable, I'm sure, but I haven't ridden in any...yet.

    wow, someday!

I love how much a bike is capable of...rider is really the limiting factor...you don't even needs a trials bike

and you know I wanna check out bishop...no CNG stations out there though...that's a "rent a truck or go with a friend" weekend

    1. Hips in line with rear axle
    2. Leg pump
    3. Handful of throttle.
    4. ???
    5. Look for broken parts

I was in a trance watching the first video last night, as he's repeating the move over and over. I found myself slowly evolving mentally from 'no way' to 'eh, maybe I could try this once'. Then they went back to normal speed right at the end, and I realized I had completely forgotten it was slo-mo. My delusions of grandeur evaporated.

LOL, The move itself I have used many times, just not in the context of a tall rock in a pile of smaller rocks on which I have to stop.

A dragon's back on a MX track is a perfect example. Splatter over it but keep rolling. no risk of toppling like a jenga tower.

If you haven't watched the Jonny Walker segment in the Moto 6 film, then you are just doing it wrong.

I'm pretty sure that kid could ride a harley down the edge of a razor blade.
