I'm so pumped to see Roland roll this on his street bike that I'm considering loading up the DRZ with DOT tires and running headlight with him on that. Dumb idea, hell yes it is. But life is short, let's have some fun.

KTM and DRZ are both numbered with ghetto electrical tape. Found a brand new rear for the KTM on my shelf last night, will probably mount that up. Just occurred to me that I can probably take the mirror off the KTM. Won't need that. Here I am adding lightness.
DRZ is such a bad idea. Still, packing it just incase I start feeling exceptionally brave.
Kid at work caught wind that I'm doing this. Started trying to give me tips on how to jump.This is going to be either a disaster or epic. Nothing in between.
I recall seeing something in one of the earlier posts about removing kickstands, while working on my bike last night I got to thinking about this. Is it a requirement for Stimilon to remove the kickstand? Does safety wiring it in the up position satisfy this requirement? How about handguards? I also seem to recall that some MX tracks aren't fans of handguards that come back and connect to the bars on both ends.
Figured I'd see what the consensus was.
I vote for not removing the kickstand and leaving the handguards on!

Debbie downer here: No kickstands usually means no kickstands. Jumping and sidestands don't mix. The barkbusters are your choice. They absolutely can cause horrific injury, but they can prevent some as well.

I was watching some you tube GoPro video of the track last night, as I haven't ridden the modern layout. Plenty of jumps out there, and located in some parts of the track where some riders will be moving right along (LOL)I won't jump so no need to remove it right?
I wonder if I have any spare levers for Ms Katie Em.

Glad I checked in here, still need to do a quick oil change tonight so I'll remove the side stand. Is there "official" confirmation of bark busters needing to be removed?
I have zero spares, sooooo yeah... not too sure what to do about that...

I'm reading between lines here. Blind about to lead blind. Does it matter which is more blinder? Maybe? Probably not.
I'm guessing that handguards are just generally thought to be a bad idea as you are more likely to cantilever yourself over those bars in this foolishness than in the woods. (Le'ts let that little factoid soak in for a moment!) Meanwhile there are fewer rocks, trees, and related goodies to break levers on. Therefore I am guessing that you're welcome to run your guards if you want. Couple more experienced guys weighing in here that they choose not to. Us noobs may or may not want to follow their lead.
I can't remember if I have spares. Had I thought about it weeks ago I would have bought spares. They aren't even expensive.

I'm right there with ya. From what I gather the Beta uses the same levers as many recent KTMs, so I'm hoping if a spare is needed I can track one down. It'd be good for me to grab some essential spares once I know WTF I'm doing though....
I'm also on a super soft, spongey / springy bike, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to launch myself a few times....

From past events, the only 'tech' requirement given to me was a request to put tape over the glass lenses of my headlight. This is a new track though so they may attempt to enforce more things? With the crew that's about to descend on that place I wish them all the luck in the world with that...
