Regarding 2017, Davo said with enough entries we can have an all NESR gate. We coulda done it this year with some planning ahead. That's right, our own damn race class. Run what ya brung. Call it "NESR Ever", or maybe "You'll Never Use All the Power".

I swung by on Sunday morning around 10 .

There were 3 bikes out on track and maybe a half dozen campsites left.

Sounds like another classic event. And yes, you must wait til next year. These things cannot happen too often... Glad this thread stirred up so much interest. It is the best one on NESR Hahaa

101 will feel like a tiny kids track in comparison. there are jumps and berms but the overall size will feel like a 1/4 of what we enjoyed over the weekend.

101 Does have great flow and kind of makes you feel like a hero because the jump faces are so smooth.

    Re: STIMILON!

i'm psyched you guys had fun. that track was way better for this event than Southwick. still incredibly hard work to get out there moto after moto, bravo for that!, but the conditions were just soooo f'in mint. the track on Friday was unreal. perfect everywhere. by Sat afternoon the breaking bumps were getting a little deeper but the track never got gnarly. the last Never Ever moto i was able to watch, everyone was motoring really well, you could tell from a distance some good times were going down

the "racing" highlights for me were holeshotting Brittle 40C moto 1 (funk yes, goal achieved), 40C moto 2 battle with a random guy and Headlight moto 2 picking off a few people, holding off one dude and swapping places with the guy next to us (#00). that last moto was a total blast! i was reeling in #00, caught him, he catches me back, two laps to go and i decide to honk at Smutty and Tim which kinda fucked up #00 concentration, he kept looking back, his rear end was kicking out everywhere, hahaa ... last corner he went outside, i went inside, we were neck and neck to the finish with him just edging me out by like a wheel or so. what a fucking blast. we were all high five after that. same for the previous moto with the other guy. that's what it's all about.

i'm jonesin' to go back and keep practicing.

i'm so bummed you missed this, Paul. not sure if you've ever ridden Jolly Roger but you would have LOVED the track this weekend. the elevation changes, over / under, mint berms, mint dirt, huge rollers, deep sand, on and on. tons of fun with great flow. Tony is doing a really good job. can't wait to see how he keeps improving it.

EDIT: forgot to add... the jump faces and lips even stayed perfect all weekend. unreal. the kickers that did appear were super tiny divots. that's all.

I'll be the first to admit, I probably would have broken down crying after 1 moto.

deep sand + heat = insane exhaustion. but still sooo, sooo damn fun.

Pro Tip: crying is allowed, just pretend you have salty sweat in your eyes, works every time. keep the whimpering down though. dead giveaway.

    Re: STIMILON!

This was definitely a fun event for me. I don't think I did that bad considering I'd never really even seen a motox course before this. I think the highlight for me by far was the 4-way battle fest between Jeff, Josh, Doug and I on the last go round of headlight. I was getting a little carried away with myself in the 2nd round of "never-ever except I have a motox racing license" a few motos earlier on the 200. I crashed pretty hard on the last lap after passing the other Wild-Bill and getting Ironman-Doug in my sights. Just couldn't listen to the idiot light, pinned it for the last table top up the hill under the bridge, went into that flat corner at the top way too fast with not nearly enough talent. Lost the front and very abruptly ate shit. That one hurt. Finished out the lap at my slowest pace yet and probably held up the next moto out on the grid. After that I decided to put the 200 away and break out the DRZ. Why not add insult to injury, right?

    Best decision ever.

I had so much fun riding the snot out of that poor street bike. I think I reset some berms with that front end. I desperately need a photo of that thing airborne. I keep looking at the photog's sites. If anyone sees something, please let me know.

    Couple things I learned.
    - Bring more water. Yes, 5 gal is way more than I need for a track day weekend or even LRRS race weekend. But I needed that much for Stimilon
    - Rig up some sort of shower. Paul is likely onto something with that adventure van of his
    - Handguards are not required for motox; somehow crashing-even hard-doesn't seem to snap levers. Still, pack spares
    - Pigs can fly
    - Two classes plus Friday practice was plenty of riding
    - Springs, the heavier the better
    - Buy and bring a portable grill
    - Do not go to bed without making at least one more pass through the party tent
    - I don't hate PBR nearly as much as I think I am supposed to

This was the real test of the battery and fridge setup I added to my cheapskate glamper this year. It worked mint. So glad I added that. Now want to wire up a solar cell.

Southwick occasionally has open practice days, for those of you who don't already know and would like a taste. Literally. (ha! Stuff gets in your mouth at the Wick)

It just so happens that crow hill is kinda similar to Jolly, closer to all of us in Mass, and is open this afternoon...

Agreed but MX101 is roughly 20-30 minutes from my house. I know I am the odd man out in this regard so take it with a grain of salt. I'm thinking I'd like to go play at MX207 someday with Josh as he seems to always have to drive to go wherever we are riding and MX207 looks like it would be fun.

i should be in for one of the Wick practice days, will throw on radar. dying to try out the Golden Fatty front on that track. it FLOATS sand so damn well i'm curious if it will help my corner speed there. i'm way too gingerly on entry blowing my mids and exits. annoying. gotta rail, rail, rail.

if it works, Fatty front + MXS paddle rear would be an unbelievable combo. can't get the MXS in an 18 though think i saw a paddle at the Golden tent though, meant to check it out.
