So, I finally used my Smith card. Picked up a pair of shades, and 2 pairs of goggles for 100 bucks. If you were there, don't forget to use the card!!! We didn't get much riding, might as well get some sweet optics.

in the garage last week installing new grips i picked up for the TC, "oh hey, there's an old Stimilon bag on the wall" it was full of grips from the previous 3 years

yeah, all the rain and sand just spun the left one off after what, 3 laps ¿? i used a shitload of grip glue this time, i'll safety wire as well.

I use primer spray paint grey works best. Spray the fuck outa the inside of the grip slide it on with a rag to catch the excess. Safety wire done. Ole School Motocrosser showed me the trick. I have never had a loose grip because of water or sand.

i've heard of the spray paint trick... normally i do the hair spray thing but switched over to grip glue. just need to use a lot of it and work really fast. i didnt use much on the last install = fail.

i dont always safety wire though. that i'll start doing.

I miss the Stimilon Schwag bags already. I'm going to steal one of my wife's cloth grocery bags, fill it with anything still in the package in the garage and 'gift' it to myself in a little ceremony tonight to try and recreate the feeling.

Thanks for the trick, never heard of it. Grip glue seems to give up after awhile.

Yep, Make one loop around the grip, twist up about an inch an a half, lay it across the grip, then another loop, twist an inch and a half, lay it across the grip, third loop around grip, the twist teh tail, cut, and bend the end and stick it into the grip so it won't stab you.

Interesting, I've always done mine a little differently. All my grips have an outside and inside edge groove that is perfect for safetywire. Two loops around, twist and terminate, sticking the tail into the grip under the two loops. I don't chain them across though.
