she needs it!!
the lighting parts came in for the KDX
not an exact match, but don't care...spent about $80 for both parts, and the tail has an integrated brake light, and plate light
china:
came slightly broken (can fix) and got a full refund from seller
first new plastic I ever purchased for a dirt bike, lol
plate light:
and the fender is wide and flat enough, that I'm just going to bolt the plate directly to it:
maybe bend the edges
just need to figure out brake light switch - was thinking integrated banjo bolt switch?

uhhh....does a kdx200 not have a hit?
I'm betting something's up with the exhaust valve - bike felt lazy...as slow as the dr200...gonna have to go through the motor before I take it anywhere
and guess what?
it also doesn't have a voltage regulator
...which is why the headlight and taillight both popped before I even made it out of the driveway

I never messed with the electrics on mine. I would frankly just order all the spindles and gears for the powervalve system in advance of taking it apart. replace everything while in there. It's a series of aluminum and steel moving bits with no bearings, sooooo...
rrrring ding ding ding
I'm the only guy heading up the mountain on a smoker
there's a really tight single track (inches away from falling off a cliff), and the YZ absolutely sucks there...I could not let go of the clutch or the bike would move too fast for the next blind corner
fire roads with embedded rocks? - bouncy, but not bad! just WOT in 3rd gear!
and MAN OH MAN. I LOVE dirt!
Stress gone. Body exercised and tired out. Just ate some chipotle and ready for a plush gym workout and the best sleep of my life.
25 mins from work = shooting to ride every other weekend...then days off = day trips, supermoto, canyon rides, and other moto mania

With the parts listing, $6250 is a damn good buy.
LOL...saw this ad for the past couple months in the socal craigslist ads...he started out at $9,000

$110 for a temp sensor? That clearly shows he doesn't know how to shop around.
http://www.yoyodyneti.com/ProductInf...uctid=CCH20M10
You'll also need fittings, etc. Got the sensor to match the GPS logging dash that is also mentioned in the parts list. Look at the parts list, he wasn't looking for the $20 Chinese eBay knockoff specials, he was trying to make a high end one off.
was he trying to take a dirtbike frame/suspension, put on some clip ons, fairings, and call it a sportbike?

Bit more going on than that, and he's been shopping from GPTech so it should work. Formula 450 machines handle like 250GP machines when setup correctly.
oh man, oh man, oh man...this thing is SOOOO MUCH FUN
got home...haven't ridden in about 1-1/2 weeks...try to start the YZ450f I just got, and it wasn't even firing...frustrated, I kicked over the yz250, and got in a quick street ride
ring, ring, BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG
when behind cars and about to split, cars willfully get out of your way:
this thing is louder than a Harley...EVERYONE turns when it rolls buy...def. a fag bike
despite, quite possibly, waking up the entire southern california greater district, I did not catch the attention of LBC's finest:
so...much...fun
30 mins on that thing, and stress gone!

went mx on the '94 YZ250
two tons of fun as usual
watching video, it seemed that I wasn't "on the pipe enough"...
so I tried staying on it more
but I need more practice
but to be honest, when I rode my new-to-me 03 450f, the '94 felt a bit dated...power/geometry/suspension was a bit rocked out...
but the 03 450f, was a monster...way too much bike for me...

cool to see an old bike like that still having fun on an mx track.
oh hey, getting out of work at 5pm?
get yo dirt ride on after work!!
couple newer faces riding pumpkin style
WOT - 3rd gear - you are FLYING
and I don't know what happened, but MY HEADLIGHT WORKS!!!
yeah, it's all stator, so I gotta rev the bike to get any lights...but that means I just need a new battery to keep the lights running!

@ Kurlon or whoever - any recommendations on gearing the YZ250 for street/supermoto?
close ratio transmission sorta sucks on pavement...1st/2nd gear launch you to 35mph quickly, then 3rd/4th/5th/6th go up in 5-7mph increments & tops you out ~60ish (amp'd forum braggarts claim anywhere b/w 75-90mph)
so I was thinking smaller rear sprocket for my spare wheel set - what sort of gearing? drop down 2 or 3 teeth?

What size wheel? 17", 18" or 19"? Makes a big difference in the sprocket size. Generally low 40's tooth count for road duty.
Front sprocket: biggest you can fit. I had a 16 tooth CRF450 sprocket on my CR500 and it definitely helped with road use. I had to machine a little bit of the case and swingarm to fit it properly.
Mx/dirt rim is a 19" running 14/48
Street rim is an 18"...so I will go up one on the front, then...45 on the rear?
Tricky part is that I am not setting up the gearing tomatch anything (ie. Topping out 6th on a straight), so it's not something I can calculate

I ran 15/44 on a drz400 with 18" rear. It was speed limited by wind resistance to about 90mph. You may have shorter gears than the drz. Go 40-42, or seek out a 16t front. Sprockets from the yzf fit?
Not sure...mayb Kurlon will chime in here, but it's likely
Just bolted up the sportsman setup today - the 18" wr setup bolted right in...unfortunately it doesn't have a brake rotor and I started to strip a bolt on the dirt rim swapping the rotor, so I gave up (btw - yamaha brake rotor bolts sure are soft!)
Front rotor is also pretty warped...so going to need new rotors front and rear and try to extract all those pesky bolts
Going with a 42 rear: JT sprockets - steel, $27.08 shipped
OEM brake rotors are fargin expensive (over $270 from bike bandit) - for a 20 year old bike, I'm okay with a used rotor as long as it's straight and not scored
