    Sunday 9/19 rocks and roots

    Rocks and roots ride!
    10am start at my house.
Limited number of "quiet" bikes and riders.
Bring your own drinks, snacks and lunch.
About 4 miles of trails, do it one direction, then reverse it becomes 8 miles. Ride it 2 or 3 times and you'll go home feeling like you rode 200 miles.
My driveway is for driving on, not riding on!
    PM for directions

Yes, it'll be fine. Trails are similar to Hodges "hero" section without the elevation changes.

You will figure out your riding ability...quick. But, this is the place to get comfortable off-road. Technical, but very fun. I fall, but its a dirtbike. Their made to fall.

I'll PM directions or the address to those coming tomorrow (saturday) evening.

Add your name here so I know who to PM.

Jay and James, do you still remember how to get here?

About an inch of rain last night which should be perfect to keep the dust down

Thanks for the offer Tom There are a few areas that do need some minor attention if you're up for it. I think the neighbor plans on heading out riding around 1pm as well.
This fall I need to layout and cut another 2 mile section...tho this section will be full on single track

wow, that's great of you to offer Mark! I would totally be down, but unfortunately I'll be interning again

I would definitely be ready to help with trail maintenance. Actually, nowadays when I ride, I'm always thinking about how the trails I'm riding could be created, or made better, just so hopefully, someday I can cut my own on my own property

Not happening for me. Have fun and good luck.

I'd be happy to lend a hand in building some trails as well, even if my pig may not be able to ride them.

Ok officially out today. Hopefully next time. Ill bring my saw if needed and I have also added a new tool to the line up. I have the mother of all hand held hedge trimmers. It will be good for taking down any brush that needs to be taken care of.

I'm out as well - have some chores I need to do with the boss before the Pats game this evening. Mark - if you PM me in advance I could definitely make it down on a day for some riding/trail maintenance. I can bring my saw as well.

If you want to ride Franklin today Im looking for some motivation to get out there soon for a couple of hours. Just got the call from my mom and the party has been canceled but its too late for me to make it to Marks in time.

anyone ride today? I spent the whole day working...and people I saw said it was such a great day outside so all I thought about was good riding conditions

Intense day. I just couldnt get too comfortable on the bike today. Unsure why, trail conditions/tires? Seemed to be washing the front left and right which in turn tensed me up. Still a ton of fun! I believe new tires and a new rear spring is needed.

Re: Sunday 9/19 rocks and roots

With so little rain this summer, we are used to riding on dry roots and rocks. Add some moisture and the riding picture changes..and sometimes the gravitational pull gets stronger near those wet roots and rocks.
Still fun though as you said
Not sure on the spring but I'm sure some new bumpy rubbers will help regain some traction in these fall conditions.
Thanks for the help in the trails today Tom. I think some of the burms/switchbacks may be next on the needswork list
