I've never been a honda fan because of this...same thing with all their motor sports programs. I like Roczen tho, and I think he has the attitude and skills to pull it off this year no matter what bike he is on.
My only fear this season is Roczen walking away with it early, and having no real exciting races to watch.

I hear you about the repetition, but I actually do find it somewhat fascinating/interesting to hear about some of the poster-men for overbearing parenting with sons at the top of the motocross heap. It's a pretty long list...and nowadays, if you are a top rider but don't have a dad to fill that role (or sometimes even if you do!) you can just hire Alden Baker to bust your balls 24/7 to keep your training and race regimen up to par.
great season opener, even my wife was into watching. pumped for this week.. .
hmmm, posted by JS7 on SAT:
therealjs7: It's been 16 years since a Saturday night in Jan came and i wasn't in a stadium doing what I love. But all I can say is it won't last for long!!! Truly can't tell ya how much I'm looking forward to returning doing it my way. After months of trying to make things happen, i realize that no matter what I would do, it wasn't going to work. You keep doing the samething then it's no one else fault besides your own no matter who's doing it to ya. So we're doing it on our own. To all that supported me... I'll see you soon. Too all that didn't... I'll see you soon. Wanna thank all my sponsors that are supporting me thru this adventure @redbull @gopro @oakley @dcshoes @sevenmx_ @bell_powersports. And most importantly, I wanna thank my fans for being Ultra Patient with me thru all of this. Wasn't until last week that I actually had a final plan to go at it this way. For those that tried to break me. Sorry... but you can't get rid of me that easy. Not quite done yet!

HA! i knew what you meant with that. my comment wasnt intended for that. i just meant that he made it clear that he was there to win. which i suppose is what they are all there to do. he checked out early. not really out of the norm for him though. when hes on his game he tough, if not impossible, to beat. problem is he eventually goes too hard and hurts himself and takes a few weeks for him to get back to 100%. i guess thats the downside to this sport. you get like 2 days to recover from a race injury before youre back at it.
i agree, it will be like the Poto days just hoping he will crash. as long as KR94 doesnt turn into the overconfident douche bag that Poto turned into then im ok with him winning.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

yup, sounds like it to me.

Team Yamaha must be concerned...
Cooper Webb - 10th OA
Chad Reed - DNF.
What happened to Reed? Unless I missed it, they did not show him pulling off the track...

Hey, look on the bright side. He and Reed can race for DNFs![]()

Unfortunately he seems like he will end up with Poto shitty attitude... time will tell!
As for JS7, I'm confident he will come in and at least toss a wrench in the championships....if he actually returns.
I'm confused with CR22 and getting the Yamaha ride. They compared him to VR46 over and over again... only thing in common those 2 riders share, is they are both the oldest in the class! VR46 can still battle at the front, and podium.... CR22 hasn't and won't.
Yamaha
That's a load of bullshit. Did you watch last season, CR22 did in fact podium multiple times....why can't he do it this year? Like most every rider in the field, it comes down to a decent start to get a decent result.
I do agree that there is no comparison with Rossi, but two very different sports.
i see both sides of this. i agree that CR22 isnt washed up. hes landed on the podium a few times and has shown that when everything is perfect (bike, track, tires, dirt, temp and body) that he can run up front but hes no title contender anymore. hes a solid top 10 rider for sure though. should he hang it up? i dont think so, but maybe thats because he is the old guy out there and its cool to see him up front when it happens.

Sweet gopro footage of the main event last weekend:

I love it when they aim the camera correctly!
Yeah, I almost always neglect to aim the camera high enough. Dirt riding position is leaned forward quite a bit, and this tilts your head down even when you are looking up. I need to remember this next week as I'll be goproing every day.
Man, he got killed in T1. The rest of the race seems like the only way to make ground is in the rhythm section or whoops.
interesting how a handful of riders said the track was 'easy' ... wonder if that's the theme for the entire season?
actually, now that i think about it, weren't the tracks last year really technical and difficult overall? i know they talked about the track design being way mellowed out this year but can't remember if they expanded on that.
Beta 200RR
Don't remember where I heard it but I recall a comment along the lines of the plan being to make the earlier races a touch easier to ride to get everyone back in the swing of things without losing as many to injuries and possibly step up the difficulty further into the season.
