    Re: Supercross 2017

    Fully caught up.

I guess my prediction of Jimmy D was wrong...he got the hole shot in San Diego but faded about half way through. That one turn in San Diego was awesome, really tested every rider. It was clear who had it figured it out.

Anaheim 2 course was gnarly, and holy shit that crash was nasty. After watching the replay over and over and over again, I'm surprised he walked away from that. Extremities aside, he smashed his noggin real good.

    Re: Supercross 2017

I've watched the crash a few times now, and I concur that the landing was cringeworthy. I'm still not sure why he came off the bike though, it looked like a million other jumps until he bailed like it was on fire. Maybe he could feel there wasn't enough speed to clear the jump? I don't have any SX experience, but I would think the bike would soften the blow.

Fairly certain the bike took a nose dive and there was nothing he could do to bring it back. His feet were off the pegs almost instantly.

    Re: Supercross 2017

the rear end just SPRUNG instantly out of the bottom of that jump, looked like the force was too much for him to correct with no foot/knee grip. Jeff was talking about a few of the jumps getting square edges, the whole upside looked squarish on that one.

man, a few feet further and he could have almost made the downside. i hate seeing that shit no matter who it is. wrecking straight into a jump or whoop face is just evil business.

i hope someone gives Dungey a run for his money this wknd. sad to see Ken drop out.

Ouch. That sucked. I thought it only happened to goons like me. Amazing how small the difference between control and disaster is in SX/MX.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Mainly the reason I decided to sell the MX bike. If you ever had a kicker form in a race on a jump you were taking normally you know how scary it can get when you hit it dead on and weren't expecting it. It's enough to make you take up road racing.

Haha, yep. This is how I busted my rib this spring. I stayed with the bike, but landed 90 degrees to the direction of travel. Rib was broken by the handlebars. Not at all sure what would have broken if I bailed from the bike.

It is just like old times seeing how often Stewart crashes. Bit of a shame its Malcolm and not James though.

450 main was a great race. Reed was possessed and Tomac finally dominated as everyone thought he should. Mybe Roczen's injury was the confidence boost Tomac needed? I hope he can repeat and get in the points battle with Dungey

Never once did I say I didn't like Reed! If he pulls it together for more than 1 or 2 races, I'll eat my own words.

    Re: Supercross 2017

Tomac just took off and at one point he was around 20 seconds ahead of everyone. I was worried he was going to crash but for some reason he clicked on the track. Same for Reed. Sketchy was the word the riders used for it. If you had the courage it probably became easier to ride the faster you went.

What about Anderson and his heat race. He can certainly dish it out...

yeah, track was odd in that some clicked, many of the usuals didn't. great racing in both classes ... my prediction, we won't see much from Tomac or Reed next wknd. FLUKE

Track looked fast and flowed well. Similar to daytona. That may be why ET3 and CR22 did so well

I sure do hope Tomac can keep his momentum going. That sand section was um, interesting.

    Re: Supercross 2017

Tomac pulled a Dungey on Dungey.... Dungey pretty much with the hole shot out in front with Tomac coming from not such a great start at eighth after one lap. Then slowly Tomac moves forward and keeps upping the pace. He overtakes Dungey and then wins by almost 9 seconds.

I'm happy for him. He sounded like he paid his dues during the off season and it showed last night. Fitness level = Ninja

yeah, that was amazing, i didn't think we'd see anything from Tomac but he sure proved me wrong. that track was wack though, looked like an Arenacross rather than Supercross.

    Re: Supercross 2017

Just caught up. Yup, I think Tomac may deliver on his potential this year.

In the 250 main. Decotis always fades. Better tonight, but still. Is he a really tiny dude? Like my size? haha. He looks so much smaller than the other guys. The 250 looks big on him, and I think he simply can't get over the top of the bike and muscle it like the other riders. I feel his pain...

Yes actually he is. He may have some body mass on you but I'm not sure if he is quite as tall as you.

    Edit: Did some research

BIO | Jimmy Decotis professional motocross, supercross, J Day.

Apparently 5' 5" and 150 lbs according to the Bio

Cool wow, you were spot on. He's shorter, but a little more stout. I have to believe just watching him out there that in this discipline, his size puts him at a disadvantage. He will simply never have the mechanical advantage over the bike that the taller guys do.

    Re: Supercross 2017

    Small complaint.
Fox has changed how they list the races. Now instead of "motorcycle racing" it says "supercross" so i almost missed recording last weeks race. No prob, just adjust the recording schedule. Done. Problem 2...they dont list them as "new" episodes so setting the dvr to only record new episodes doesnt work and it records nothing. Set it to record all episodes and...well...it records the race and the 2 replays during the week. Wtf.

On topic, was surprised to see ET3 work his way up. Timing really worked out. RD1 never got to see the wheelie-triple-quad that ETe was pulling to really make up time on everyone.

That was very JS7-like (from his prime). He always used to have a rhythm that no one else could touch. Eli made that move look easy. I'm sure it wasn't
