"Suspicious" dirt bike death now considered homicide investigation

i just learned of this tragedy in Wilton, CT. my heart goes out to the family and friends of Nick Parisot.

hope the fuckers that took Nick's life BURN.. .

"WILTON — Nicholas Parisot drove into an "object elevated from the ground," which threw him from his dirt bike and contributed to his fatal injuries, said Wilton Police, who are calling it "a suspicious death."

Nicholas Parisot, 13, of Nod Hill Road, was discovered unconscious on a trail near 57 Hillbrook Road around 4:30 p.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead at Norwalk Hospital a short time later."

from NEDB: 06-19-2008 "The reporter (Frank MacEachern of The Wilton Villager) called me back today and said the police are considering it a homicide investigation and are not ruling out murder charges at this point."

so sad and it happens so often. i just bought my 8 year old son one for his birthday coming up and it makes me question whether i'll let him leave our yard.

99% of the time its jealous local kids or psycho land onwers stringing rope across the trails. had this happen to a friend years ago on his kx.

used to see it all the time... I'd do this one particular loop 2-3 times avery now and then. On several occasions there'd be a pile of limbs/boards/nails, whatever across the trail on lap three. Not really effective, but given the placement the intent is the same. Guy on NEDB got hit with a length of RG6 strung across the trail a few years back. He was luckily OK. Thankfully the police treat this kind of thing very seriously.
I wonder if the ass that killed that kid even feels bad about it? What the hell did they think was going to happen?

yup, i hear ya. its been part of this sport for me since i was a kid and ill never understand why. ive never intentionally disrespected private land owners. if there was ever a gray area, something got worked out. death should never be the outcome.

    RIP, Nick.. .

    RIP very sad.....

in my area landowners would routinely chase you with rocksalt loaded 12 gauges to keep you off there land. shit got old quick and they started digging hidden ditches.

i think its just part of the sport at this point.

the one sport that helps to keep kids out of trouble is becoming more illegal than doing drugs.

I've been hearing the rocksalt shotgun stories since I was a kid... I've never seen anything to make me believe any of those stories were true. I chalked it up to (sub)urban legend. Anyone actually been shot? If so, I guarantee the local police would like to hear about it.

I got shot at when I was younger...we had like 3 pits with practice tracks around my town that I would take powerlines or railroad tracks to and one time I went trail riding and the trial went across the edge of this farm land and the dude came running out with a tiny gun. I really can't remember but it might have been a bb gun...not even sure at this point, but it just looked like a tiny rifle.

ive been chased but never shot. It could be legend, but anyone chasing you with a fucking shot gun is worth running away from regardless of whats loaded in it!

dude, if anyone ever shot at me while i was on the trail they better hit me, cuz i'd go back there with a baseball bat and shove his own rifle up his ass.

I would imagine it to me legend. I would think rock salt would kill you just as fast as bird shot.

I've had rocks, snowballs, sticks and even tools thrown at me.

Does anyone know what is going on with this investigation?

Have they identified the culprit (and formed a posse to carry out the public lynching?)

Re: "Suspicious" dirt bike death now considered homicide investigation

only news ive read lately was that they published what the 'object' was, a rope tied across the trail, and that they are doing forensic testing on the rope. i guess some other evidence was gathered from the scene as well that is undergoing testing.

police are focused on 'a group of people'

That's just like the zip ties that they found strung across streets in Framingham.

Re: "Suspicious" dirt bike death now considered homicide investigation

Have heard about this happening up here in VT, on snowmobile trails and what not. Luckily when someone came through they saw the rope and didn't get messed up. Luckily it was uh...winter, and uhm, well, snow...see, when you step in snow you leave foot prints. Two sets of foot prints, from the trees the rope was strung between right back to the house. Quick call to the state police and guess who got an unexpected visitor awhile later.

Went to high school with a kid who lived near a snowmobile trail...rope across the trail was something he wanted to try.

I think he was completely oblivious to what could happen. I think he was thinking it would have been funny to see someone get knocked off their sled.

    sad.

Hopefully whomever elevated the object...gets elevated themselves. They deserve murder charges...poor kid.

I'm sure that was many of us at one time...dirt bikes, 4 wheelers and sleds, out in the woods having fun.

Re: "Suspicious" dirt bike death now considered homicide investigation

I can understand that these vehicles annoy some people, but I just don't get what has to go through your mind to think this is a good solution, or think its just a prank. People are just so fucked. I had this happen to a friend when I was a kid. Fortunately the rope or whatever that was strung was not very strong and broke, but it left one hell of a mark.
