Nobody deserves to die, but when you put yourself in bad spots, you increase your chances. This is not "pot's" fault. Nor is it the "gubmint's" fault for not legalizing. The quantity he was trying to buy or sell is not what even the Mass statute contemplates as legal.
He chose to engage in a criminal activity, meeting others involved in criminal activity, in a secluded area, and he either tried to rob the other guy or he got robbed. A fight ensued, one dipshit dead, one dipshit in jail.
There's little "innocence" on the part of either dipshit.
Pot was apparently a multi-generational endeavor, business or recreation in both families. But I don't think pot creates dipshits, dipshits are born and raised by dipshits and happen to also smoke pot. Non-dipshits also smoke pot and manage not to get themselves killed or refrain from killing someone along he way.
This is a 50/50 for me, once it went south, one of them was going to end up dead and the other one would be going to jail.
Senseless, but involving people with little to no sense.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

MA statue is irrelevant considering it took place in CT. And any laws right now involving this substance probably aren't the best example considering there's still a great polarization between those who think it's mostly harmless vs those who think the government should control it. Any laws about it are typically compromised laws. Another major factor is federal concerns considering they're still demanding over-arching control. Don't poke the bear.
More to the point, the reason they met in a secluded area, the reason larger amounts of money was involved, the stakes/tension increased, and reasons people are discouraged from involving police when things go poorly is all due to it's legality. I can only think of a weak metaphor, but this would be like making 65mph against the law on the highway claiming it's dangerous, and then not maintaining the highway. Yes, you knew going in that it was dangerous. But the reason it is dangerous is due to governmental influence. The priority is not those who went 65, but the lack of maintenance. I think you're missing the point. I'm not sure anyone is denying that both parties knew exactly what they were doing. They both knew there was some risk involved and made that decision. It's a manufactured problem.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
It's a certificate of origin, not a title.
Thems too. You use the coo to get a title, at least here in mass.
